"Abby!"
"Okay, I'm coming!" I took one last glance at my phone and ran down the stairs. Still no text back. Zach, being the best boyfriend ever, usually replies to my texts maximum 2 minutes later. It's been 3 days since I texted him to watch a movie with me on Saturday, and he still hasn't replied.
"Come ON! You're gonna be late, Abigail Lucia Brown!"My mom yelled. "Okay, okay!" I sighed and jumped in the car, heading off to school.
As we rolled into the school parking lot, I spotted Zach outside. Once we stopped, I immediately leaped off the car, screaming, "ZACH! ZACHARY SMITH!" He was staring at his phone intently, walking towards the school entrance without glancing up. I ran up to him. "Zach!"
He was still concentrated on whatever he was doing on his phone so he couldn't hear me. "Zachary Smith!" I shouted into his ear. He jumped up and yelped. "Oh my gosh! Hey, Abby. You scared me!" I rolled my eyes, and asked, "What are doing?" I leaned over to peek at his phone. He shielded his phone away from my gaze and looked away nervously. Weird.
I decided to ignore his unusual behavior. "So did you get my text? I asked you if we could watch a movie together on Saturday." He blinked a few times, looking clueless, and said,"Sorry, I.. I haven't had the time to look at your text yet. I'll get back to you later, okay?" I raised an eyebrow, looking at him suspiciously. He looked at me uneasily. We stared at eachother awkwardly for a few seconds. To cut the tension, I said, "So.. lunch together today?" He looked at the floor nervously and stuttered,"Oh, s-sorry, I can't, to-today..."
I narrowed my eyes but said, "Okay then.. I'll just eat with Grace."
"Okay. See ya later," he replied. Then he walked away, typing on his phone rapidly. If he is spending so much time on his phone, why wouldn't he read my text?
