Love Poems:

(Compiled)

1. Lost Love (Udiah (witness to Yah))

Void, empty, hollow inside

My dreams have fled, my hopes have died

Existence has no reason

Life's just passing with each season

She was my life, my hope, my love

All is gone, passed by thereof

The hurt is such no one should bear

What's to life, why should I care?

I weep all night for my love gone

My heart is sick, for death I long

Mine eyes well tears for love that's lost

I'll mourn always for the great cost

But in each day Lord give me hope

Strengthen me so I may cope

Grant me wisdom to help me see

Thy great way and not just me.

2. Bitter Blow of Love (Mark R Slaughter)

Love! you dealt a bitter blow -

You lay me cross the mortal plains,

Bedewed, bedimmed amongst a show

Of tearful clouds: eternal rains

To weep at my enduring foe

Of harsh reality - searing pains of

Destiny: dependable propensity

To fool myself repeatedly

That I could ever triumph over love!

3. Ditty (Mark R Slaughter)

O! love to me is but a season -

Seldom does it overstay,

And tho' I pain to seek a reason,

Like the dream, it fades away

To leave me once again in awe

Of how the heart can render raw

In loss of love; but then to soar

Atop anew! - and hail adieu!

To her who fled from chance I gave

To see us wed: Then on,

To court another fairer face -

And lose again in end of chase!

I curse the seasons evermore -

They tease me thro' their metaphor:

Starting fresh, their vigour young,

Yet oversoon, the ditty sung.

4. Her... (Jordan Moore)

I can never get my mind off her,

I wonder if she'd mind if i'd,

make her my own,

and never let her go,

hug her tight,

treat her right,

act all polite,
