MY BROTHERS BEST FRIEND

*JACKS POV*

I closed my locker and started for math class, I wasn’t feeling this Wednesday morning. I didn’t get my coffee, I turned and bumped into a group of girls who giggled.

“Where’s the fire ladies?” I flashed them a quick smirk and took in the legs on the girls.

“Some blonde girl is getting reamed out by Thane” his name made my stomach drop.

“Sadie...” I turned and sprinted after the crowd. A big circle crowded around Sadie’s locker, I worked my way through the crowd to the center of the circle.

*SADIES POV*

I shoved my extra binder into my locker, I didn’t need the unnecessary weight. I felt fingers come into my hair and push my face into the lockers.

“Where’s your hero Sadie?” Thane’s breath smelt worse than yesterday.

“What’s your problem with me anyways?” I felt the blood coming from my nose.

“Thane don’t like being told what he can and can’t have” I turned to face him.

“How did you even pass English?!” I put my hand to my nose as a crowd started to form.

“Shut up Johnson. No one’s here to protect you anymore” his screams reminded me of Will. I couldn’t catch a break with the jerks in my life, Thanes hand swung out at me. I felt him strike me, my face burned. The blood started to fill my mouth.  I saw movement in the crowd, great another grade nine with nothing better to do.

“Just leave me alone Thane.” I shut my locker and started to walk away.

“Don’t deny me Johnson.” He tackled me with his whole body, I fell to the floor. My vision started to blur but I saw a bright pair of red vans I could spot in crowds of people.

Thane’s body weight was pulled from me “if you wanted a fight you should have called Thane, I missed our grade eleven mornings” Jacks voice was deep. I felt hands go under my arms, I saw Mallory’s small painted fingers.

“Let’s get you to the nurse” her voice seemed a little frantic.

“It’s alright I’m fine.” I watched as Thane threw the first punch but missed Jack. Jack returned the blow but hit his intended spot, Thane fell like a ton of bricks.

“Wait till Sam finds out about this.” Jack looked at Thane with disgust in his eyes, he turned to face me and let a reassuring look cross his face.

“Come let’s get you to a nurse” I let Jack and Mallory pull me towards the small crowded office. The first period bell rung as Jack took a seat beside me.

“Guys go to class, I don’t mind being late” I pushed all my hair to one side so none of the blood from my lip got into it.
