Chapter 22

"Unnie, he's going to be here about any minute. This is not the first time I'm meeting him but your message made everything a whole lot weirder", Yolanda texted Haerin, patiently waited outside for Jaehyun to arrive, also finding a way to calm herself by texting her sister. "Geez, it's gonna be okay, baboya! Go with the flow!", Haerin replied back. The car finally arrived infront of Yolanda's gate.

"I'm here-woow..you look so pretty" - Jaehyun
As usual, he strikes in order to make Yolanda blush.
"Yeah whatever thanks", was the only words Yolanda could say but without the eye contact as she got inside the car. There was an awkward silence inside the car as Jaehyun was busy stealing glances at Yolanda secretly and Yolanda, on the other hand, was too embarrassed about the text her sister texted to him, to even face him. "Soo..since you were the one to ask to meet up, where do we go?", Jaehyun asked Yolanda, making the situation even worse because it wasn't her who actually texted it. After contemplating for about 30 seconds, Yolanda finally answered. "Let's go near Han river, we can park somewhere and then take walk around and by the time of sunset, we can see the sunset close up there. Sunset is one of the beautiful sights to witness". Jaehyun smiled at her suggestion, as it sounded so pleasing to his ears. "You're more beautiful than a sunset to me", Jaehyun worded out yet again making Yolanda dumbstruck. This lead to another awkward silence of few seconds as Yolanda just turned the other way to look outside the car side window. "Um, so, you've a mask so you could put on while we walk since you're an idol?", Yolanda questioned Jaehyun. "Yeah, I always have them with me. No worries. Can we please get icecream from icecream van near the Han river? It's my favorite. I used to come here a lot as a trainee", Jaehyun answered. They finally arrived across the roads near Han river, parked the car to continue their walk. As it was 4:40pm in the evening, there were a lot of people including kids, so they decided to just go to the nearby park to sit until 6pm.

"Do you've any memories here?" - Yolanda
"As a trainee, yes but nothing special then, now I'm making special memories with a special person here" - Jaehyun
Yolanda just smiled at what Jaehyun said, it sounded so pure and heart melting to her.
"Yaa, don't smile like that at me. I might fall even harder!" - Jaehyun
"Fall where? I'll catch then!" - Yolanda teased, to avoid any awkward situation
"You think I'm kidding?" - Jaehyun
"Kidding? About what?" - Yolanda
"About falling for you?" - Jaehyun
"Ani, never said that. Oh look, it's park. Let's go take the bench" - Yolanda again tried avoid any awkwardness that could rise, she felt Jaehyun's eyes on her so she walked faster to take the bench. They sat in a bench that was sort of covered around with a tree, it was very peaceful as it was just them. Not many people come to the park when they come around the river, everyone's too busy strolling the busy streets.
"You're good at avoiding anything" - Jaehyun
"Eh..what?" - Yolanda
"You're so pretty" - Jaehyun
They were sitting really close to each other, Yolanda was trying her best to avoid eye contact but Jaehyun on the other hand had his eyes fixed on her.
"Yaa! You say that too often!" - Yolanda murmured, very silently
"Because you're just too pretty and charming" - Jaehyun
"Don't look at me. I feel embarrassed" - Yolanda
"Aw look at you being shy, the same girl who hours ago messaged me about how she misses me, you've so many sides to you, it's fascinating" - Jaehyun
"Aah shut up! Just leave that! I never miss you and I'm never shy" - Yolanda
"Yolaa-ah! I wonder a lot as to how much you must have liked me to write a letter back when you were younger and kept it safe because you were unable to tell" - Jaehyun
"I can't answer to that because I can't remember liking you then but I wonder the same about you, considering how much you were after me at first, it was obvious you must have liked me back in time too, right?" - Yolanda
"Can't remember liking then but do you like me now?" - Jaehyun questioned Yolanda, nervousness ran through her whole body with the sudden question.
"Yeah, ofcourse, I mean, you're a nice person. What's there to not like, right?" - Yolanda quickly answered, so she could escape
"As a man, do you like me?" - Jaehyun
"Eh?" - Yolanda
"Never mind. I think not, sorry for asking such a straightforward question. I was just..I don't know, sorry!" - Jaehyun, he somewhat seemed upset, the mood got down.
"Jaehyun-ah. I really like you, in every way" - Yolanda
Those words came as a shocker to Jaehyun, he knew Yolanda felt something for him just like he did but he never thought she'd confess it again that clearly. After composing himself, the smirk on his face was too obvious as he stared back at Yolanda who was blushing at her confession and his reaction.
"Then be my girlfriend?" - Jaehyun, he asked the billion dollar question in utmost coolness, all of a sudden causing Yolanda to be shook. She just stared at Jaehyun blankly as it was just too sudden. Jaehyun leaned forward towards her lips causing Yolanda to shut her eyes, unable to understand the whole situation but reacting anyway. 'Is he gonna kiss me?', Yolanda thought to herself silently, just when Jaehyun cracked up ruining the whole moment. He stopped when he turned to Yolanda, to see her blank face, a bit of disappointment and sadness obvious. "Not everything is something you should joke about. It could mean a lot to the other person y'know. I'm gonna head home", Yolanda muttered as she stood up to walk out of the park but got stopped by Jaehyun who pulled Yolanda by her hand towards his body, putting his one hand around her waist. "Who said I was joking? I'm very serious. I asked it that way so you thought I was joking?", Jaehyun questioned but before Yolanda could answer, he went near the tree and plucked a little flower out and muttered, "then let's do it the classic way". He got down on his one knee, moved her hands that held the flower forwards towards her and asked, "Will you be my girlfriend, Yolanda?". Yolanda didn't know how to react as that was not what she expected at all. 'Did he just propose to me?', all the thoughts were taking rounds around her mind within the small time. "Will you?", Jaehyun asked again, to which Yolanda just took the flower from his hand smoothly without a word, her cheeks were getting redder and redder. "So is that a yes?", Jaehyun asked yet again and Yolanda just nodded. They had no idea how time passed by but the sunset was already seen from there when the proposal happened. "Aigoo so cute!", Jaehyun chuckled and pulled Yolanda to a hug. Jaehyun placed his one hand on her chin to lift her face up so he could make eye contact with her, then, he leaned closer to her lips, she didn't shut her eye this time as she did not want to embarrass herself but it was too late as Jaehyun already crashed his lips with hers, gently, Yolanda's eyes wide open but eventually she shut them. He held her by the waist, so close to him in a strong grip while they were creating a perfect Kdrama kiss scene, infront of the sunset, gently kissing each other. Jaehyun calmly broke the kiss, still hugging her close to him. "Let's take a walk near the river, girlfriend", Jaehyun said to which Yolanda just made a face of disgust. "Ew, that's so cheesy, don't call me that!", Yolanda blurted as she pushed him away. "Hahah I knew you'd react this way", Jaehyun just laughed it off. As they were walked out of the park, Jaehyun carefully put his mask back to avoid any unnecessary scene. "Why are you walking so further away from me?", Jaehyun questioned Yolanda who was walking further from him. "Because I don't want to cause trouble to you, I heard some fans can recognize even through the mask", Yolanda explained. Jaehyun just ignored what she said and moved up to her, held her hands tightly and walked, hand in hand. "It won't be trouble if it's you. If they're my real fans, they'd respect my decisions. I'm a human, I'm allowed to date the person I like too", Jaehyun assured Yolanda. It was getting cold outside and Jaehyun being the gentleman removed his jacket to put it on Yolanda. "This place is so pretty", Yolanda muttered as she stood close witnessing the river lights, and the city scape across. "This place was always memorable but now it is gonna be the most memorable since I spent it with you", Jaehyun confessed. "Are you always this cheesy?", Yolanda questioned teasingly to which Jaehyun just fired back, "Only when it comes to you. Talking about cheese, you were the one who texted 'I miss you so much' to me, this morning". "Yaa, I told you not to mention that. It was by Haerin okay", Yolanda blurted.

"Wait..what?" - Jaehyun
"What what? Oh, I forgot to tell you, ohmygod! I know that Haerin is my twin sister, well something happened and I found out through Jenny, so I met her, it's been two days. She also took me to my adopted parents today. I didn't get the chance to tell you" - Yolanda
"Waa..you didn't even tell me. You completely forgot I exist. How did it all go?" - Jaehyun
"It went amazing, it felt the best even if I don't remember everything, I can feel it" - Yolanda

Jaehyun just smiled at how happy Yolanda was explaining everything to him when suddenly he hugged her from the back. "Ay, you're such a lovey-dovey", Yolanda muttered. "Yola-ah! You told me four days back that you were leaving..are you leaving back?", Jaehyun asked, sadness was obvious in his tone. "What if I leave?", Yolanda turned to face him, to ask that.
"Even if you leave and stay in US, you won't forget me right? It's too soon for you to leave. We just started, but it's fine. I can manage long distance, just don't leave me" - Jaehyun
"Yah! Who said I'm leaving? I just asked hypothetically. I won't leave anywhere, I'm planning to stay with my real parents. I won't go anywhere, I won't leave you too. This is where I belong" - Yolanda
"Then what are you going to tell your US mom and dad?" - Jaehyun
"Uh, I have to do all that tonight. I don't know, honestly, I can't hurt them with my words but I have no choice. I'm gonna nicely try to explain it to them but if they don't understand it that way, then I'll have to leave the meanest way" - Yolanda
"Explain it nicely, I'm sure they'll understand. Don't fight, angry bird!" - Jaehyun
"Yah! I'm not an angry bird!" - Yolanda
"Yes, you're" - Jaehyun continued teasing, continuously pinching Yolanda's cheeks to annoy her as he knows that he hates people playing with her cheeks.

The date ended with Jaehyun dropping Yolanda off to her place after about 20minutes of teasing each other and walking around, having icecream secretly as Jaehyun had to hide his face anyhow.
