Chapter 2: Vomit In Your Underwear Drawer
"You guys hear about the party?" Becka asked, plopping down her lunch tray across from Jackson and I. Angel and Nicolas were sitting opposite us as well.

Delilah soon followed and their third roomate, Hope sat next to us. We had only attended Abas for two weeks but we were all close friends. I responded to Becka while Jackson and Delilah made googly eyes at each other. "No, what party?"

Hope answered. "It's in the courtyard, 9:00 this Saturday, everyone's going!" Her eyes gleamed with excitement.

"We're going." Delilah said shoveling pasta into her mouth. She gestured to the four of us guys. "You in?"

Jackson and I exchanged a look. He winked at Nicolas. "Oi, Nic, wanna be my date?"

Nicolas sputtered. "Uh- sorry Jackson but uh-"

Jackson made a fake surprised look and snapped his fingers in a z-formation. "Okay boy, you aint my type anyway!"

Nicolas looked confused and put his head in his hands. "Jesus Christ, what kind of people am I friends with?"

---Saturday-7:00

"That is complete bullshit." Angel groaned.

Jackson stood in front of Angel and I wearing a yellow fedora and suit jacket over a pinstriped shirt.

"You're not wearing that are you?" I asked rubbing my temples.

Jackson shrugged. "Girls dig a guy with style."

"You have no style." Angel said plucking the fedor off his head.

Jackson made a face and took the fedora back. He gave us the finger and plopped down on his bed.

"Nicolas, you okay?" I called knocking on our bathroom door.

"I'm perfecting my look for the women at the party!" he shouted back at me.

"I don't think he's ever been to a party." Angel whispered. He wore a dark brown leather jacket over a collared black shirt.

I just wore an unbuttened collared shirt over a tee that had a falcon playing guitar on it. I didn't go to parties often either.

"Let's pass the time Danno-boyo." Jackson said sitting up. "Give us a trick."

"I'm not your show pony." I said scoffing.

Jackson rolled his eyes and teleported to the closet and tied on a skinny tie.

He teleported back to the bed and blew some hair out of his eyes.

"Do you ever do that to get into the girl's showers?" Angel asked grinning. I rolled my eyes.

"Nah takes too much energy." Jackson said. "I'd be too tired to even get 'happy'."

Angel made a horrified face and we heard the bathroom door open.

Nicolas came out wearing a velvet jacket over a collared white shirt and a matching red bowtie.

"Nice look man." Jackson said bumping fists with him.

I looked at Nic and was impressed. His power was extreme intelligence, I had realized the first day of school. His father lived at his house: a rich CEO of some major company. Nic was born with a mutation in his brain that gave his IQ a boost. A huge boost.

I looked over at Angel who was texting one of the girls he had been flirting with since he got to Abas.

He was still a mystery. I knew nothing about his parents, just that he didn't come from a foster home. I didn't know what his power was either.
