Parker's POV
"Hey, babe" I say walking to up to my girlfriend, Aubree.
"Hey. Where were you yesterday? I went by your place but you weren't there" she asks.
"Just hanging out with a friend"
"Carson?"
"No, he doesn't go here"
"Oh. Wanna come with me and my parents on a cruise for winter break?"
"Sure. Sounds fun"
"Yay! I'll see you at lunch, ok?" she smiles and kisses my cheek before walking to class. I watch her walk away before I feel someone standing behind me. I turn around and see Ben.
"I took the wrong binder last night" he says getting my binder out of his bag.
"Oh, thanks" I say and get his out of my bag.
"Parker! Why are you talking to that fuck face?" Carson asks from across the hall.
"I was just getting my binder back from him"
"Why did he have it in the first place?"
"We're ELA partners"
"Seriously? That must suck ass"
"I am right here" Ben says, offended.
"So?" Carson asks.
"Whatever. Asshole" Ben says under his breath.
"What did you say?" Carson asks.
"Nothing"
"Sure ya didn't"
"I'm just gonna go to class"
"Yeah, you do that" he says and hits the books out of Ben's hands and walks away.
"Let's go, Parker" he says.
"I'll catch up with you. I've gotta talk to Mr. Franklin" I say. He continues walking away and I pick up Bens books and hand them to him.
"Sorry about that" I say.
"Its fine. I'm used to it"
"...do you wanna study after school for the exam?"
"Sure, if I can find someone to babysit my sister"
"Ok. See you in ELA" I say and walk to science.

"Yo! Parker, wait up!" Debrowski shouts from down the hall. I just left science class. I stop walking and wait for him to catch up.
"What?" I ask after he catches up to me.
"I saw you this morning"
"Yeah. I saw you too. I drive you to school everyday"
"I meant I saw you pick up Ben's books"
"Oh"
"Why'd you do that?"
"I'm trying to get him to do my essay for me. Scaring him wasn't working so I'm trying to be nice" I say nervously. That's not the truth, I did it because....I don't know....Carson's a dick and I guess I was just trying to help or something.
"You sure?"
"Mhm"
"Ok. See you at lunch"
"See ya"
