Jesse began to prepare himself for their "date". He was quite surprised that Hanzo even acknowledged his existance. That didn't phase him much, though; he was too into himself for his own good.
Anyway; McCree had the room to himself for a while, since Hanzo was at the cafeteria getting something to eat. Jesse showered and groomed his facial hair, unlike normal. He finished quickly, and walked out to the balcony, waiting for Hanzo.
"I am unsure how I knew you were here already, but I guess you're just predictable," Hanzo chuckled as the sliding door to the second floor balcony opened.
"Just came out for a smoke," McCree lied a bit. Yes, he was smoking, but that doesn't mean he wasn't there for Hanzo too.
"I see. I take it you don't want any of this, then?" Hanzo laughed, opening and drinking from his flask shaped like a gourd.
"Hey now, that doesn't mean I don't want t' drink. I'm always down for a drink," Jesse snickered as Hanzo sat down.
"Then you must share what you have," Hanzo kept the flask from Jesse for the moment.
"All I got is my tobacco. I'll gladly share, though." He smiled.
"Hm. I suppose it will do," Hanzo picked up the cigar from McCree's fingers and took a draw. Jesse took a drink from the flask, a stiff face followed.
The engagement between the two was quiet for the most part. That is, until Jesse spoke up.
"So, I was never entirely told why you and your brother have such a... distaste for each other," He sat across from Hanzo, leaning against the wall next to him.
"That is a subject for another time. I do not enjoy telling that story," Hanzo looked down to the gourd in his lap.
"Whatever you think is best," Jesse looked out to the vast sky in front of him. A sigh escaping him as he gazed at the twinkling stars. "At least we have a beautiful night."
A smile graced Hanzo's slightly wind burnt face. He ran a hand through is nicely kept beard. "It is. I haven't seen a nice night like this since I was a child," He looked over to Jesse.
"Oh? Don't get good lookin' nights?" McCree laughed.
"Not really, it's usually overcast. The nights where I lived in Japan were quite boring," Hanzo drank from what remained in the gourd.
"When I was a kiddo, the nights here were always amazing. I would come up 'ere and play around. Probably wasn't safe, but I didn't really care," A laugh bellowed from Jesse's chest, making Hanzo smile slightly.
The cowboy saw the smile on Hanzo's face and flushed slightly, then grinned himself. He was glad he could make at least one person smile once in a while. He pulled another cigar from his shirt pocket, a lighter followed.
"You want some darlin'?" He asked after taking a long draw. Hanzo put the gourd down, nodding. He took a few hits and gave the cigar back.
Silence took over once again, leaving the two of them to whichever item they had.
"So," McCree eventually broke the silence again. "Why wear those clunky metal boots?"
"They help with the weakness in my ankles. Also, they help me climb walls with ease," Hanzo slid one boot off to reveal the thinness of his ankles.
A whistle came from Jesse as he looked over. His legs looked extremely feminine with how thin they got past the calf.
"Some ask if they're prosthetics. I have to assure them that they are simply just boots. I don't see why people ask so often," Hanzo sighed, putting the boot back on.
"I feel ya," Jesse paused. "Lost m' arm not too long ago. Have to show people it's not some sort of metal glove."
"Seems to be the opposite of my issue. But I appreciate the empathy," Hanzo laughed.
Jesse couldn't help but smile, seeing Hanzo in a pleasant mood. It made him feel good to make someone feel at their best. He sprawled his legs out and crossed his arms. A smile played on his lips all night, even when they went inside and back to their room. Even as he fell asleep, he couldn't help but smile.
