Park Jimin loved the colour pink; a soft, baby pink to be precise. He loved long walks on the beach at ungodly hours of the morning. He loved listening to music on vinyl and dancing to an evening's starry sky. He loved Yoongi, but he wasn't supposed to.
As he stepped cautiously down the steps and away from the barbers at the corner of St. Michael's Street, he bit his lip - Yoongi had always loved the colour blue. He spent his walk home pondering on what Yoongi would think of the colour he didn't much like. When he got home, he ventured to the kitchen and stared at his reflection in the small window as he poured himself a glass of water. He reached a small hand up to scrunch his fingers through his hair; pink. A slight giggle left his lips.
A few hours later, Jimin found himself throwing on a rather warm sweatshirt (as it was cold on this particular evening) and heading off towards his favourite place - Rose Beach.
It was his favourite place for three reasons in particular, though there were many. One: the sand was entirely pink. Two: he was one of only two people who knew of the small, hidden place surrounded by a thick foliage. Three: it was the place where he first met Yoongi, and had met him ever since. He absentmindedly watched as the mesmerizing vines and meandering paths of breath left his parted lips. The night in mid-November was certainly living up to its cold reputation. Jimin trudged his way through what seemed a never ending forest, humming the whole time. As he neared, he silenced himself and slipped off his boots at the edge of the clearing, where the sand began; he could make out the outline of the blue-haired boy against the black of the twinkling sky. Sneaking up behind him as his pink ankle socks became littered with pink sand, Jimin reached out his arms and gently placed his cold fingertips over Yoongi’s eyes, crouching.
A smile braced the pair's lips.
"I have a bit of a surprise, Yoongi," he spoke, "I don't know how you'll react, but I really like it, and I hope you do too." Yoongi snorted, but slowly nodded, gently squeezing his hands with his own as if to say he would eternally trust in Jimin. Shaking slightly, he removed his hands and collapsed down into the sand beside his hyung. Yoongi turned to look at him.
For the first few moments, Jimin struggled to read the expression on the older male’s face, mostly because there wasn't one.
Then, Yoongi laughed. Loudly, and without restraint. Jimin's cheeks flushed in embarrassment and he rushed to stand. Through a variety of stammered chuckles, Yoongi managed to reach out his large, warm hands (that had been wrapped up in the fluffy blanket on his knees) and grab Jimin’s own, hoisting him softly down beside him again.
"No, no, Chim, that's not why I was laughing. You thought I wouldn't like it, but I love it."
"R-Really?" He stuttered, a sheepish grin breaking out. Slowly, taking a deep breath and caressing Jimin’s soft, conditioned locks, Yoongi nodded, before shuffling towards him, gently lifting the younger and comfortably settling him into his lap.
"I love it," Yoongi gulped, closing his eyes as he looked away and softly whispered, "Almost as much as I love you, Park Jimin."
As if a reflex suddenly struck his body, Jimin took Yoongi’s chin very gently between his still-frozen fingertips and tilted his head back. For a moment, they held each other's intense gaze, and then, there was nothing to stop the euphoric wave that came crashing in as his (also cold) lips pressed firmly against Yoongi’s. This wave was one full of two years worth of undeniable emotion, one that reshaped their souls and felt so right that it may as well have been playing their favourite symphony.
A smile braced both sets of lips as Jimin were situated closer against Yoongi and bundled into his jumper with him. It was the perfect moment. Yoongi leant forward and rested his head against Jimin's chest, with Jimin’s own coming to fall atop Yoongi’s. Together, they sat and watched the moon sway on the rippling, ebony sea, and as Jimin closed his eyes, Yoongi listened to the melodic rhythm of his powerful heartbeat.
When Jimin awoke, he was at home, wrapped tightly in a multitude of duvets and fluffy blankets. Beside him, residing on his baby pink, fluffy pillow, was a baby blue postcard. It showed a picture of cotton candy hung up. Jimin chuckled softly and turned it over.
It read, 'Tonight; 7pm - April Bay. 사랑해요 (I love you).'
