magnus chase

ok 'magnus chase' is actually a really good book series with an amazing cast of diverse characters, here me out. yes, it is a story about norse gods but is super well written and tbh the most lgbt and poc populated book i've ever read. which is kinda surprising since it's accurate yet it's written by some old white dude?

the main character, magnus, is bisexual, and the love interest, alex, for magnus is a mexican and genderfluid. the second main character is a muslim girl who would literally cut a bitch and i am HERE for it

other characters are a deaf man, a former african american slave, and literally all the gods are genderfluid and pansexual. so it has magic, a lot of sarcasm, accurate poc, female, and lgbt characters yet it's so unknown wtf

besides it being really rare to have a genderfluid character, escpically one who isn't white, it's also very rare to have them be in relashionship with a character romantically. guys i actually shed real tears when she/he and magnus got together y'all don't know

magnus is also a pretty ok main character. again, it's really rare for bisexuals to be protagonists, and i didn't even know mag was bi until he and alex kissed and made me cry. but like he also drooled over alex no matter her/his gender so it's not really a BIG surprise ??

anyway read this better version of percy jackson if u want to get the gay and gears grinding
