Chapter 4: Assignment 1

Just like yesterday, my alarm jolts me awake at 7 o'clock sharp.

"Wow, I really need to get used to this schedule", I mumble to myself.

Attempting to roll myself out of bed without falling is an Olympic sport in itself that NO ONE needs to see..

Praising to myself, "10!", like the gymnastics part in the Olympics. I manage to stick the landing and I begin to make my bed. I'm really trying to adult and get in the habit to make my bed. I know, I know, grandma alert...whatever.

One eye cracked open, I shuffle to my bathroom so I can wash my face, brush my teeth. You know, the usual.

"Ah, there we go! Good as new!", I say to myself while turning the water off.

I walk to my closet to layout what I want to wear for my day 2 of work.

"Hmm, I guess another flannel will do. But this time, I'm wearing leggings and black Vans because I can."

I head downstairs to make breakfast but I noticed I left a box of half eaten pizza from last night. I grabbed the cold pepperoni slice and start munching away. It's cold but it'll do.

I brew myself some hazelnut coffee, just to wake me up a little bit more. In the meantime, I started getting dressed, putting my hair in a bun, and then back downstairs for my coffee.

I don't drink it black, so I had to dress it up a little. About 3 packets of sugar and about a 2-second pour of vanilla creamer will get the job done.

Grabbing my digital camera and my now doctored up coffee in my thermos covered in french fries, I was ready for work.

"Yes! 8:30! Let's goo!!", I yell to myself while lightly jogging to my car.

The sun hasn't fully risen yet, so I decided to drive around and take pictures of the fronts of the shops and cobblestone pathways.

With the light fall breeze brushing my face, it just made this day, "...perfect."

I check my phone, "It's 9 now", I say to myself. "I think I'll just get to work early. Besides, I'll have the entire weekend to take pictures of town."

Pulling up to the front of my work staring up at the big sign and reading, Photos Imagined. I take one last sip of my now, lukewarm coffee, and walk into work to start my day.

"Good morning!", I say with a smile to the receptionist. She looks up with a smile of acknowledgement. I went ahead and walked towards Mr. Rockwell's office.

I knock a few times before being called in.

"Good morning, Ms. Weston! A little early aren't we?", Camden says as he look down at his watch.

"Yes! I just thought that since I was already out the door and in town, I could come to work early", nervously patting my thighs.

"Ah, I see...Well, no sense in wasting time. Let's get started! First assignment. Write this down", he says.

I'm looking around as I have absolutely nothing to write with or on for that matter. I'll just listen VERY carefully.

"I need you to leave and come back at", checking his watch, "11:45. Why might you ask? I want you to take your camera and your keen eye for aesthetic and shoot 5 different photos of people. You can do whatever you want. Okay?"

"Yup! Copy that! I shall see you at 11:45!", I quickly say and head out the building.
