Apple walked around the school, confused. Everyone was standing in the halls, whispering amongst themselves. Some dragons looked worried, whereas others looked pleased. No one seemed willing to speak above a hush, leaving the whole Mountain eerily silent. Apple frowned at the odd behavior until she found the dragon she was looking for.

"Ember," she began. "What's going on? Why is everyone acting so weird?" Ember stared at her with a mournful expression.

"You're not going to like this." He declared, grabbing her hand and leading her to the front of the school. Apple's breath hitched in her throat as she saw it.

The mural in the entrance of the school, the one her father had painted, the one that showed all the happiness of the school- it had been vandalized.

In a rusty color, large angry letters spelt out a message, tainting the happy images of the mural.

Hybrids Go Home.

Apple clenched her hand tightly around Ember's talons. Who would do such a thing? She glared at the letters, until the substance it had been written in seemed to change. Her heart sank as realization hit.

"Is.....is that...." she whispered. Ember nodded.

"Blood." he finished quietly. "Whisp's, to be specific. They found her in the back of the school. She's unconscious right now, but Clay thinks she'll be alright. She lost a lot of blood for them to be able to do this, though."

"Why, though? Why would anyone do this?"

"Whisp was a hybrid." Ember explained, his voice breaking slightly. "Clearly someone doesn't want us here anymore." He shook his head sadly. "I don't have the heart to tell Hope about this- she loves Whisp."

"What do you think's going to happen?" Apple asked. "...You don't think they'll kick us out of school, do you?"

"Never." Ember confirmed. "The Dragonets of Destiny would never throw out a hybrid. Half their families are hybrids- heck, Sunny's a hybrid." Apple shook her head.

"Why is this happening?"

"I wish I knew, Apple," He tightened his grip on her talons protectively. "I wish I knew."

Sunny paced the floor of the cave that they had deemed 'the teacher's meeting room'. Around her, Clay said in utter shock and Tsunami glared angrily at the wall. Fatespeaker and Webs looked worried. Sunny paused in her pacing as Starflight entered the room.

"Well?" she asked.

"Five students are gone." He offered. "Juniper, Darkheart, Wade, Walrus, and Fog are nowhere to be found. None of them are hybrids, so it's possible they are responsible."

"I never liked the looks of Darkheart." Tsunami announced. "Something about him always seemed off."

"Tsunami, now is not the time to bad-mouth our students." Sunny sighed, dropping to the ground. "What are we going to do?"

"Maybe we should get Glory," Clay suggested. "She always has good ideas, and she's dealt with angry dragons before."

"Yeah, by burning their faces off." Starflight added. "And besides, if we tell Glory, she might pull the students from the rainforest out of the school, and then everyone else would follow."

"Is it just us?" Sunny said randomly. "Are we cursed or something?"

"What are you talking about?" Tsunami asked.

"Think about it. We open the school- everything is FINE until our own dragonets show up. Then all hell breaks loose EVERY SINGLE YEAR until they graduate. Then everything is peaceful again, UNTIL their dragonets show up. Should we just ban everyone that's related to us from the school?"

"Sunny, I think you're starting to freak out." Clay offered.

"I AM NOT FREAKING OUT!" she retorted. "I'm just A BIT CONCERNED THAT OUR STUDENTS ARE BEING ATTACKED AND THERE'S AN ANTI-HYBRID HATE GROUP HIDING IN THE SCHOOL, THREATENING EVERYONE AND WE HAVE NO IDEA WHO THEY ARE!!"

"Yeah, you're freaking."

"I'm going to contact Glory." Tsunami announced. "Whether she takes students out or not, she is a founder of this school and should be aware of the situation." Without another word, she left the room.

"Sunny, relax." Starflight urged. "Everything will be fine- it always is."

"Not helping, Starflight."

"Haze, what's this all about?" Shore asked. Haze had gathered all of their friends, and the rest of the school's hybrids, in one cave.

"It's about fighting back, dammit!" Haze proclaimed. "Ember, if you will." Ember, Boysen, and two Skywing hybrids Shore didn't know stepped up to the front of the room.

"As I'm sure you're all aware," Ember began. "During the Hybrid war, there was a secret Rebellion group known as the Colors of the Wings."

Unbeknownst to the group as Ember spoke was the news Tsunami had just uncovered. The Seawing raced back to the others, informing them. Sunny quickly rushed contact her Mother.

"This rebellion was led by my older sister," One of the Skywing hybrids declared. "My name is Crimson. And we propose that we continue this organization here, at JMA."

Sunny's eyes widened at her Mother's words.

"If dragons here think they can attack hybrids for no reason, then we have every right to fight back against them." Boysen added.

"Who's with us?" Crimson asked. Cheers of approval shot up from the room.

"How bad is it?" Fatespeaker whispered.

"It gets worse." Sunny explained.

"How could it possibly get worse?" Tsunami hissed.

"It's not just her- it's dragons from the Sand Kingdom too."

"Sunny, what are you saying?"

"I'm saying," Sunny paused. "Pineapple, Fierceteeth, and Strongwings have been broken out of prison. They've teamed up with a Sandwing gang leader named Prickle, and the four of them were recruited by our own students."
