Singing In The Rain

After a few weeks, Shore was ungrounded, but still on thin ice. A few days later, a storm rolled into the Rainforest. Rain and heavy winds made flying impossible, and kept the air cold and damp. The Rainwings moped and slept, missing the sun. It was the perfect day to stay indoors, which is what everyone did happily.

Rin spent the time curled up with a scroll that Apple had given her. It was a great day for a scary story if you asked her.

Ander stared out at the rain for hours in a way that made Joy wonder if she had accidentally eaten some strange mushrooms.

Shore was over at Orange's house, playing games until the storm stopped.

Kelp and Joy took advantage of the storm, and the fact that their dragonets were busy, and spent some time to themselves, remembering and reminiscing old memories.

"Remember when we had music nights back at JMA?" Joy recalled. Kelp grinned.

"Of course." he insisted. "And as much as I love the fiestas here, I do miss those nights."

"How come?" He shrugged.

"It just seems like forever since we were crazy, rambunctious, and sang spontaneously, you know?" Joy smiled.

"Are we not still crazy and rambunctious?"

"Fair point."

"And if you ever want to start singing randomly, go right ahead."

"Is that an invitation?"

"Only if there's dancing involved."

"Well, if we're talking about our time as reckless dragonets, I have found the perfect song to describe you."

"Do share." Kelp grinned, kissed her, ad started to sing softly.

"You're a troublemaker
You're a troublemaker...
You ain't nothing but a troublemaker, girl
You had me hooked again from the minute you sat down
The way you bite your lip got my head spinnin' around
After a drink or two I was putty in your hands
I don't know if I have the strength to stand, oh oh oh...
Trouble troublemaker, yeah
That's your middle name, oh oh oh...
I know you're no good but you're stuck in my brain
And I wanna know...
Why does it feel so good but hurt so bad, oh oh oh?
My mind keeps saying,
"Run as fast as you can."
I say, "I'm done," but then you pull me back, oh oh oh...
I swear you're giving me a heart attack
Troublemaker!
It's like you're always there in the corners of my mind
I see your silhouette every time I close my eyes
There must be poison in those finger tips of yours
'Cause I keep comin' back again for more, oh oh oh...
Troublemaker
Why does it feel so good but hurt so bad, oh oh (hurt so bad)?
My mind keeps saying,
"Run as fast as you can."
Troublemaker
I say, "I'm done," but then you pull me back, oh oh oh...
I swear you're giving me a heart attack
Troublemaker
Why does it feel so good but hurt so bad, oh oh oh?
My mind keeps saying,
"Run as fast as you can."
Troublemaker
I say, "I'm done," but then you pull me back, oh oh oh...
I swear you're giving me a heart attack
Troublemaker
Why does it feel so good but hurt so bad, oh oh oh?
(And I can't even explain why)
My mind keeps saying,
"Run as fast as you can."
Troublemaker
I say, "I'm done," but then you pull me back, oh oh oh...
I swear you're giving me a heart attack
Troublemaker

Joy laughed.

"Well that definitely sums me up." she agreed.

"Mhmm. You are a troublemaker." Kelp proclaimed. She grinned at him, her eyes sparkling deviously.

Orange groaned with boredom.

"We have played every single game there is." she declared.

"Why can't the sun just come back out?" Shore begged, equally miserable.

"Because there's dumb clouds in the way."

"Stupid clouds, always getting in the way of decent sunshine." Orange let out a laugh.

"What do we do now?"

"I don't know."

"Well I don't know either."

"Pick something."

"No, I picked the last game. It's your turn to pick." Shore sighed and wracked his brain for anything entertaining to do. He grinned as an idea sparked. He stood up and held out a hand.

"My name is Olly nice to meet you can I tell you baby. Look around there's a whole lot of pretty ladies," he sang. Orange watched on curiously. "But none like you, you shine so bright, yeah

I was wondering if you and me could spend a minute
On the floor up and close getting lost in it
I won't give up without a fight
I just wanna, oh baby
I just want you to dance with me tonight"

"You're crazy." Orange announced, grinning at him. She started to walk away and he back pedaled beside her.

"So come on, oh baby
I just want you to dance with me tonight
We're getting sweaty, hot and heavy in the crowd now
I loosen up and let your hands go down, down
But go with it girl, yeah just close your eyes, yeah
I feel the music moving through your body
And looking at you I can tell you want me
Don't stop, keep going till the morning light, yeah
When I saw you there, sitting all alone in the dark acting like you didn't have a care
I knew right then, that you'd be mine, and we'd be dancing the whole damn night like
Oh baby,
I just want you to dance with me tonight
So come on, oh baby
I just want you to dance with me tonight"
Shore looked at her hopefully and Orange gave in, grabbed his talons, and they started to dance.

"Girl, just close your eyes

We can dance all through the night,
I just want you to dance with me tonight
And everybody sing
Girl just close your eyes,
We can dance all through the night
I just want you to dance with me tonight
So come on girl just close your eyes
We can dance all through the night
I just want you to dance with me tonight ." He spun her around, ending the song and they burst out laughing.
