Dusk looked like a crazy dragon, and frankly, he didn't care. His clawmate, Nile, had given in to his madness years ago, so he didn't really think to question why Dusk's half of the room was covered in scrolls.

Dusk was on the verge of a major breakthrough- he could feel it. For weeks now he'd been researching Sandwing gangs, fights, rivals- anything that could point him in the right direction of his father's past. Coal was always so secretive, and not just to his dragonets. Upon questioning, even Firefly had changed the subject, something that made Dusk wonder if his mother even knew the whole story of Coal's past. He didn't mean to hurt his dad, but he was curious. And when Dusk got curious, he found out what he needed to know.

But after weeks of searching, he had turned up nothing but a bunch of random information.

Let's see, he thought. Maybe there's something in this mess that will help me put this together.

"There were three gangs in the Scorpion Den," he recited. "The Talons of Power, The Claw, and The Sting. Claw and Sting were rivals, until one day the Claw just...vanished. At the same time, the leader of the Sting died, and his son took his place. But then, after the heir of the Sting was found out as a spy and disappeared, the Sting was forced to combine with Talons of Power..." He shuffled through his papers. "And about four years ago, the granddaughter of the Talons's leader marries the leader of the Sting."

Dusk wracked his brain. Didn't Sunny tell  him once that his dad had been a spy? Hadn't Coal admitted that his brothers were horrible people? He grabbed a fresh sheet of paper, jotting down his theories. He glanced over at the scroll and froze. There was writing on the back.

Ditching his theories and ignoring all the scrolls he trampled, Dusk threw himself over to the scroll and flipped it over. There, in print that was almost too small to read, was a small bit of writing.

For information on becoming apart of the sting, contact fennec at the scorpion den.

An address was listed below. Dusk stared at it until it was practically burnt into his brain. He frowned, thinking this through.

Was he really willing to venture into the Scorpion Den, just to potentially find out his father's past?

.....Yes. Yes he was.

Because Dusk was curious. And when he was curious, he found out what he needed to know.
