Hacknet: Termination

Chapter Five.

You decide to go through with Grimm's Section instead of going forward. You never know what you'll find hidden deep in these nodes, especially with all these old references to various works of literature. Grimm's Nodes seemed to specialize in Involiable nodes. Nodes you can only open with the use of an Admin Password, You enter in the Password you found in the Memory Dump "Kinder- und Hausmarchen" which through a quick translation search means "Children's and Household Tales" in German. You do a quick scan and find Two other nodes connected to this current one and find that both are Involiable as well. You hit this first node with an EOS Device Scan as well as a Memory Dump Generator and within a few minutes you find a single ephone but no memory dump to sift through. After another quick search through the node you find a new X-Server to try out...and damn does it look nice. You go to the ephone and try the default password...however it denies entry to you, you try again and again with different variations as well as the password for the main node but to no avail until you get notification from the IRC Channel. It's been awhile since you've talked with anyone there and its not often that you get a notification at all these days so this must be important.

Parlo: "Hey there this is Parlo! Sorry about pinging you like that but I've been lurking and such and see that you've been a bit...stuck behind an ephone. There was a new patch that came out last night that changed the admin password. The new password is 'meadow'. Good luck in your quest!"
Aqua: "Hey there this is Aqua and blah blah blah, something dumb something boring, meadow!"
Parlo: "Hey there this is Parlo and Parlo thinks that Aqua went a bit far with that and demands an apology."
Blank: "Hey this is Blank. Shut it both of you and thank you for the info Parlo."

You go back to the ephone and type in the new password and sure enough it works and you look through the ephone quickly and find that there's a single note in it. 

"Hey there fellow hacker! So you might be wondering where you can find the password to the next node. Well its very simple. Who is the older out of The Grimm Brothers? Jacob or Wilhelm? The correct answer will open the node, the incorrect answer will start a timer that will force you to change your IP Address. Good luck!" -Grimm. Well you have the power of the internet so you go over to the node and type in "Wilhelm" and instead of getting in you get a timer that forces you to change your IP Address. You get an email from Grimm in the next few minutes of getting back to your spot. 

"Grimm-11:56pm"
Subject-The Nodes.

"Hey, It's Grimm. I noticed you put in the wrong password...like everyone else. I only added the names of the most well known brothers but did you know that there were more Grimm Brothers? I'm not restricting it to just Jacob and Wilhelm...You gotta look at the entire family tree for this one...or at least as far as you can get. Good luck...Oh and before i forget...each of my main nodes has an X-Server you may want to grab as well. Those will play a part later down the road. "

You stare at the node for a bit and realize that Grimm is a lot more cunning then he seems and after spending god knows how long on the internet you find an answer or a possible password and sure enough "Georg Eduard Grimm" works perfectly. You grab the X-Server just sitting there as well as do the usual thing. No ephone or Memory Dump in this one, however there is a note in this one.

"Hey you made it through! I guess you can see that now im a bit more smarter than the average Grimm eh? So the other node connected to the first one is the end goal...at least for my nodes at least. This password hint is simple. The Grimm Brothers had a single sister. What was her name when she got married? Good luck hackers!" 

You head over to the other node and with a quick search through the internet you find the name you need and enter "Lotte Hassenpflug" and you get into the node straight away. You grab that final X-Server and do a quick look around only to find a single note. "Congratulations, You made it through Grimm's Nodes. Take a breather and then apparate over to 199.72.007.2016 for my nodes. You will be contacted shortly."

You can finally rest after such a long day of hacking. So much research and so much more going on behind the scenes as well. You finally get the email you were waiting on.

"Grimm-12:14am"
Subject-Rowling

"Hey, Impressive work back there, also glad that you decided to go through with my nodes instead of skipping to Rowlings. I'm quite happy actually. :D You're actually the first one to make it this far too! But listen...You're almost done with this journey and everyone has been talking about you lately. All of us think you might be the one we're looking for...But that's not for me to discuss with you. There's a few more authors to go through and i think you'll find that what lies at the end will be of some great help to you in the future. We're all rooting for you!"

You decide to catch up on some well deserved sleep for once but before you can turn off your machine you get another email...this time from someone unknown.

"NAME CORRUPTED"
SUBJECT CORRUPTED

"You've been in contact with CORRUPTED haven't you? Don't you dare trust those lunatics! They aren't who they appear to be and they will not play nice if you choose to backstab them. This must be awkward for you but you must trust me...If you go through Rowlings Restricted Section you wont enjoy what comes next. This sounds...odd doesn't it? I feel like this should be written differently but im not sure how...Don't trust them...please. Rowlings section is based off of...well im sure you can guess and each of her nodes are based off of three unforgivable curses. Death, Pain, and Control. I cant tell you more but if you speed through these Nodes i think Rowling will start to question you. Don't let your guard down."

You think for a moment but realize that this could just be another fellow hacker trying to throw you off from doing all of this...however Grimm mentioned that you were the first one through...and Jmail isn't easily Corrupted like that so whoever is contacting you must be serious about this. You power down HacknetOS and get some sleep.
