Preparing

Chris POV

We all stood outside. We were shaking and frezzing from the cold.

I looked at Jane and smiled. She noticed me smiling at her and she grabbed my hand and gripped it tightly.

"Everything is going to be alright." She said as she laid her head on my shoulder.

"Yea I know we will be fine, there isn't anything out there anyway expect for dangerous animals like bears and wolf's."

I said as I watched the trees swayed back and forth from the cold winds.

Jane chucked. "They are nothing compared to him."

I looked down at her and glared.

"This isn't funny."

She pulled away from me and looked up at the moonlight.

"Yea I know, it's just that it's funny how you think he is fake."

I felt anger rise up in me.

"Maybe you should of listened to your therapist!"

She looked up at me in shock. she hugged herself and looked down to the ground.

I felt guilty for saying that. I was about to go comfort her but than I felt someone smack me in the back.

I turned around and I became face to face with James.

He looked at me than back at Jane.

"You should be more nicer to her, you know."

I sighed deeply. "Yeah I know, but I just feel like all of this is stupid, I mean look at us! We are standing in front of a dark forest in the frezzing cold, trying to find Slenderman who is a urban legend!"

James nodded in agreement.

"Yup! It is stupid but you should just think of it as hiking or camping." He lit up with a smile as he held up a backpack full of supplies.

"I got the goodies!" He said with a smirk.

I smiled back at him and nodded.

"Yeah, your right, maybe this could be fun."

"Now that's the spirit!" he said as he walked away from me to go join Jasmine.

I watched as Jane was putting batteries into her flashlight. I also noticed her putting a small pocket knife into her jean pocket.

I looked at her confused. What will she need that for?

I looked back behind me as I saw Kyle walking down the hill.

He had a glow stick wrapped around his neck.

I laughed. "Really? A glow stick."

He looked at me with confusion and shock.

"What! It's a better light source than a flashlight."

I shook my head as I patted his back.

"Come on man, let's go join the others."

We started to head towards are three friends.

I kept my eyes on Jane. Something just wasn't right about her. She seemed more worried and serious than the others.

"Ok." She said quietly.

"Let's start our search."

We all nodded our heads as we started to enter the forest.

I gripped my flashlight tightly as I tried to watch my step.

Everyone was silent. Everyone's mood became dark.

The wind stopped and the trees became quiet.

The moonlight shined over us as it watched our every move.

I soon started to feel uncomfortable. I felt the air change around us as everything stood still as if the world stopped turning.

I swallowed hard as I felt a chill run up my spine. I felt fear start to grow in me.

I heard something crunch under my feet. I backed away and saw a white crumbled sheet of paper. Dark black words were printed on it.

"Hey guy's stop! I think I found something!"

Everyone's flashlight flashed in my face.

I squinted as I watched them run towards me.

"What's wrong Chris?" asked James.

"I found this piece of paper." I said as I held it up.

"What does it say?" asked Jasmine as she shined her flashlight on it.

"It says RUN." Jane said with a shakey voice.

We all looked at her and her face was pale as a ghost.

She looked at all of us and smirked.

"Looks like the game just started."
