Thought you saw through me?

But I didn't let you see.

Think you really knew me?

You don't know what I can be.

In the time that passed,

I changed myself at last.

It wasn't really my plan,

But I hopped into the van.

I took off the make-up I wore,

Dealt with past-life sore.

Didn't know what to do,

For myself I tried to stay true.

Changed my name and my number,

The time and pattern of slumber.

Reinvented an old way of thinking,

Gave up my laugh to keep winking.

Life has taken the high road,

No prince came when I kissed a toad.

So now I need a new way of dealing,

With the quotes I have been keeping.

Need a new identification,

To survive this current generation.

Now I know it's not just a maybe,

I've begun to reconstruct this Jaygé.
