Bitten

Chapter 1: Nightmares

  Running was all I could think about. I could only stop once I have out run him. Only I don't know who he is.

  My bare feet crash into the dirt and rock which causes so much pain, only pain is the least of my worries. I forget about my surroundings as I trip on a piece of timber and fall to the ground. "No, no, no" I scream, worried he would catch me. I hold on to my injured bleeding ankle as I hear, "found you."

  I yell waking from my slumber. "It's okay Jade, just a dream, just a dream", I assure myself. I've had the same nightmare for a few weeks now and I'm terrified of it. And, no I haven't told my parents or friends, they'd probably send me to an insane asylum or something like that. I shuddered at the thought. "Well, at least I'm up", I whisper to myself. I quickly get dressed and ready for the day.

  "Ready honey?" I hear my mother ask. I nod my head in reply and head out of the door for school. I hate school, though suddenly feel bad for saying that, others don't have the option to go to school. "Here we are" I hear my mother say as she tears me from my thoughts. I hop out of the car and wave a goodbye to my mother.

  "Hm", I whisper to myself. "I think I might skip today", I happily squeak out loud with a grin on my face. I'm not a bad kid, I get fairly good grades, but I'm not a teacher's pet either.  

  An obnoxious junior takes me away from my thoughts when I hear a whistle. I look back at him while he looks at my body. "Take a picture, it'll last longer", I yell sassily. "Ugh", he whispers in return while putting his head down. I quickly call an Uber and head to the mall.

  Once I arrive I notice something. Something that shakes me to my core. I take a second look and spot someone staring at me. But it's not just anyone, it's the man from my nightmare.
