" I'll drop the package off at the docks at 2 on Tuesday, then" a voice came from a cracked door.
"You understand if you mess this up, your life will be at stake?" A snide voice responded.
Hearing that was all it took for me to jet. Well, walk as quickly as I could while making minimal sound. As I got back to the lobby, I checked to see who had reserved that room. Interestingly, it wasn't booked, which means someone on the inside had to have given them the key.
As it grew closer to Tuesday I became more and more curious. Since I had the day off I decided to 'take a trip' to the docks conveniently at 2. I was not prepared for what happened when I arrived.
I was blind-folded and gagged drug to a place I didn't know. "That's the price for being an eavesdropper," I heard as I felt an object pressed against my neck. "Just kidding, kid, we meant for you to hear" the voice said removing the blind-fold and gag.
All around me were my co-workers and a sign that said 'Happy 10 year anniversary at La'Cruxia Hotel'. They really need to figure out a better way to hold surprise parties.
