No one's supposed to be home.
At Least not until the day after tomorrow.
She grips her door handle tightly as the loud bangs sound repeatedly on the door downstairs. She could have called 911 if only her phone had not been taken from her over a little mistake she had no control over.

Now she had no means of contacting anyone.

Stepping back towards her bed, she realizes the loud knocks had stopped and only the steady sound of gentle pattering rain could be heard.

Braiding her hair into a French plait, she steps out of her room, quietly making her way down the stairs. The lights were still on in the sitting room and so was the mute television she had been watching before she left to take a shower.

Everything seemed normal, quiet, serene.

Until a loud clap of thunder booms through the entire house shutting off the power and she's hit by a cold gust causing her to wrap her arms around herself protectively and in fear as she turns around to find the front door ajar,

And a tall dark figure looming at the entrance.
