You see that I am not writing all that often lately and it is because I have a mission to get this album done asap. I am working tirelessly to get it ready for mastering. This is the first time I am mixing an album and it requires all my attention. I keep the release in my view and keep working. You won't be hearing from me as often as before but I will be sharing things with you if they are important for you to follow the process of releasing a debut indie, self produced and promoted album.
I am sure there are many musicians just getting started and much of the tips and trials I describe here will be an encouragement to them so I keep going.
Album design
Until now we have been running with an album cover design idea which was used for the demo taken to Nashville last year. It looked like this:

I am working with a creative designer to get rid of the yellow and sharpen the picture but here is the latest. The idea is to get an album cover that captures the idea of the demo, is clearer (you can read the title) but that feels stronger and bolder.
I have also designed a few ideas for the promotion of the album release in Canva.com I am going to wait until the designer is done before I move forward with them. More about the graphics I'll be using and my promotion schedule as we get closer to the release.
As you see, an indie musician that doesn't has a team has to think of many different things at once and push many different things forward at once in parallel. It's tiresome but invigorating at the same time!
Book writing
As I have said before, I am starting to write the book "Change My Mind - Before I Lose My Mind" as I do the album. Although I have short instances where I get inspiration and write various book projects I am trying to focus on the music first and the Change My Mind album second.
