Burnt

Everyday, I try to be free
Plastering a shining smile
Forcing joy into my eyes
Making everyone think I'm fine

I show gladness in my eyes
Like how the sun brights up our life
As if its bound to be the light
And never the one that needs the warmth

No one have realized that this light
Is a fire that's been burning deep
Stinging from the core of every skin
Hurting more as it glows bright

As the fire engulfs deeper part
The smile stretches wide
For I know it won't be long
'Til the dust and I will bind

So everyday I try to be calm
Shutting the thoughts on my head
Choosing not to listen
To the whispers I hear on both ends

Chin up and smile
Hide the gloom and darkness
Let me stare at the hourglass
And feel the tick tocks disappear
Sooner, the heat would be gone
Replaced by a sudden comfort
Finally, we've become one
And no one would even notice
