"Honey, we are going to a meeting tomorrow and you need to come." Mom said. "Why?" I asked. "It's about time you inherited the family business." Dad said. My eyes got big. "I'm just 18!" I exclaimed. "We know, but we think you're ready." Mom explained. "What do you even do?" I asked. "Business." Dad replied quickly. Too quickly... Frowning, I furrowed my eyebrows. My eyes widened. "That's why you wanted me to get a degree in Business!" I exclaimed. (A/N: Dude, she's stupid. I laughed really hard.) They nodded cautiously. "We're glad you did." They answered.
"Sooo... about the meeting...?" I wondered. "Professional attire." Mom demanded. I nodded. Then I groaned. That means I have to wear a dress in front of old men! Mom laughed at my reaction. I felt something tingle in my head, but ignored it. I gave a slight chuckle. Why do I need to go? They could wait until i'm out of college. I'm on my second year! Mom smiled and said, "I know you're on your second year of college, but again, we feel as though you're ready." A small smile was her response. I love it that my parents trust me to run their business, but i'm not sure I can handle it...

A few hours later:
My feet hurt...Mom dragged me to the mall to buy a dress for the meeting. It took SO long. We have been here for 2 hours! "Mom! I'm tired." I whined discreetly Mom chuckled and patted my head. I gave her a pout, then a glare. Her chuckle turned from a small chuckle to bursting laughter. I gave her a quizzical look that she just shrugs away. "Are we almost done?" I asked. Mom ignored me and her eyes went wide. She ran towards a clothing rack. Mom came back with a black dress. "It's perfect!" She squealed. "Put it on!" She exclaimed. I gave my mother a mocking glare and walked off towards the changing room.

I passed a hand through my hair gently, frustrated. "Can we go home?" I asked. My mom started tearing up. "Mum? What's wrong?" I asked, worried. "You look so beautiful." She muttered. Giving her a hug, I let out a small giggle. "We're getting this dress?" I wondered. "Of course!" Mom exclaimed. I gave my mom a smirk and payed for the dress.
We got in the car and drove home.
A/N: How was this as a first chapter?
"Creativity is not just for artists. It's for businesspeople looking for a new way to close a sale; it's for engineers trying to solve a problem; it's for parents who want their children to see the world in more than one way." -Twyla Tharp
