Once I got home from my last day at school my mother called me into her office.

Me, being the skeptical teen I am. Thought that if she wanted to kill me she would do it in her work space.

Probably have the entire room covered in a plastic so if or when she kills me, the blood wont touch her precious papers.

Yet I still walked in.

"Whats up mom?"

"Honey, remember that interview I went to a few days ago?" I nodded. "Well I got accepted." She gave me a small smile but I could see that something wasn't right.

"Mom whats wrong?" I asked. She just handed me a paper and walked into the kitchen. I had no idea why.

The paper read:

Dear Ms. Anderson,

You've been accepted into the work space. We have taken notice that you do live in Florida and the company is in California. Which means you will have to...

There was more but I didn't finish it because I knew it was gonna say that I'll end up moving to California. Then it dawned on me she left because she knew I would have a total fit.

Gotta love the woman.

I ran up the stairs and threw my backpack on the floor. I took my phone out of my pocket and texted Jessica my best friend.

Victoria: Hey gurl I gotta talk to you about something.

Jess: Yea, whats up Vic?

Victoria: Im moving to California...

Jess: What?!? When did you figure this out?! How come you never told me? Why are are you moving?!? What am I gonna do!?

Victoria: My mom told me a few minutes ago. My mom has a new job in Cali. You're gonna be fine we'll talk all the time and no one will be able to replace my bestest friend in the whole world, okay?

Jess: okay.

Then my mom walked into my room.

"Hey baby." She said as she sat on my bed and rubbing my back in circular motions.

"What?" I said already annoyed.

"Sweety im sorry but we need the money. You know with your fathe-"

"Don't. I know everything has changed ever since dad left. I know its been hard on you. But its hard on me too!"
At this point I was screaming on the inside and on the outside. The tears threatened to spill. Then my brain was back in foucus.

"Mom I'm sorry its just been really hard on me. I don't understand why he left us." The tears already staining my cheeks.

"I know baby." She said hugging me "I know."

The next morning I woke up to my mother shaking me.

"Hello?"

"Baby we have to start packing were leaving in two days."

"WHAT!" I screamed.

"Hop to it." She said with a smile. Then she left my room.

I finished packing everything accept three outfits. One for today, the next day and the day after.

I threw a white Adidas crop top on and high-waisted jean shorts. With a pair of Adidas shoes. I put black sun glasses in my hair.

I applied a bit of makeup and threw my brown wavy hair in a lazy bun.

I walked down stairs and got an red apple to snack on. I checked my Instagram and saw that I had twenty three new likes since last night.

I turned off my phone, shoved it into my pocket and threw my apple core in the trash can.

I went to the backyard and found Jake, my friend climbing over the fence.

"What the hell Jake!" I said running towards him.

He smirked at me. "A little birdie told me you're moving to California." He ran his hands threw his dirty blonde hair. I smiled. "When are you leaving babe?" He teased.

"Tomorow babe." I teased back.

Sadness flashed over his face for a split second. Then out of no where he threw me over his shoulder and carried me to my bedroom. I was screaming and laughing.

"Put. Me. Down." I screamed with laughter.

He didn't so I started poking his butt cheeks.

"Vic. Stop it." He laughed then slapped my ass so I'd stop.

Then I heard my mothers roaring voice.

"JAKE MARTIN! GET OVER HERE NOW!"

I started laughing uncontrollably now. Jake put me down and I fell to the floor laughing. He had a tomato red face as he was walking down.

When he got to my mother, his head was down and his hands behind his back. He looked like a five year old getting caught doing something hes not supposed to do.

"What did you do to my daughter?" She asked. She was fumimg.

"Ms. Anderson I, Jake Martin slapped Victoria Anderson's butt." He said calmly not daring to look into my moms eyes.

"Get out of my house and expect your mother to know about this." She said trying not to attack Jake.

He scurried out of the house.

She looked up at me.

"You're grounded missy."

"Okay." I said smiling.

She paused for a second. "That doesn't mean you get to stay in Florida Victoria." She called as I walked into my room.
