15- Slayer Training

BUFFY'S POV

'We just saw Jessica, she looked like she was leaving your house? Did you decide to help her?' Willow asked barging in through the door

'Not exactly' I replied 

'What happened Buffy?' Giles said giving a serious eyebrow raising look

'Well, she came to the door and I let her in and then she went crazy accusing Spike of being evil and wanting to kill me so I sorta told her to patrol tonight' I causually explained

'Buffy you can't blame her' Willow started

'Why not?' I retorted 'I was nice and welcomed her into my home and was willing to help her, and she was so rude'

'But you were once like that Buffy' Giles interjected 'you once wanted all the vampires dead, it wasn't until Angel showed you a good side to them' 

'Yeah well he's not really helping my case now is he?' 

'Well, why don't we show her how... erm nice Spike can be and that he'll always... ah have Buffy's back' Tara suggested 

'Okay, fine' I replied 'Spike and I will go help her patrol, come on' I said looking at him and grabbing his hand

'But I never agreed to this' Spike tried to protest. 

Spike and I stood on the edge of the grave yard, I took a deep breath and looked over at Spike who was giving me a dopey grin.

'Aha what's that for?' I asked

'So what, I'm just meant to be all nice and polite to her am I?' He asked

'Ah yeah I guess' I replied

'What if I don't wanna?'

I walked over and stood facing him, I slowly slid my hands over his chest and around his neck. 'You'll do so, because I say so' I told him

He gulped 'yeah, alright, fair enough' 

'Come on, over here' I said as I could here some distant fighting

I held Spike back as we slyly watched Jessica fight a vampire, she was strong but seemed to claim victory too soon and didn't watch her back. The vampire lunged at Jessica from beyond, she turned around too late but I grabbed him, threw him to the floor and Spike staked him.

'Rule one never have your back turned' I told her

'I didn't need your help' she replied

'I think you did, Buffy just saved your life' Spike informed her

'Am I meant to thank you guys or something?'

'Where is this attitude coming from?' Buffy asked 'Spike and I came over here to apologise and help you'

'I never agreed to apologising but the help thing sure' Spike mumbled 

'We could all use some help Jessica' I said calmly 'Please just come back with us and well try to explain everything that has happened'

Jessica reluctantly followed us home and the gang seemed relived to see her.

We all sat down in the lounge room, waiting for someone to speak first. When Jessica finally did 'So have you found the vampire that came out of the cauldron?' 

'No' I told her 'His name is Angelus and he's quite evil'

'I assumed so since he is a vampire and was brought back from the dead'

'Well, Drusilla seemed to be able to conjure the magic using the blood from the slayer, herself and Darla. It's a very difficult spell and we're not sure how she managed to do that' Willow started to explain 

I looked over at Spike who turned his gaze to the wall.

'Do you know anything that could help?' I asked him

'Why would I know?' He replied 'she's never done magic before'

'I just thought, I don't know sorry'

'Look, she's sort of psychic that's all. She sometime's gets visions and sees things. It's not magic, I don't know if this information helps' Spike informed us

'No, it does, thank you Spike' Tara replied and continued reading the spell book she had open.

'How do you know this about this Drusilla vampire?' Jessica said

'Because she's my ex' Spike reluctantly replied

'Hm' was the only thing Jessica could say to his response. 

'Did you find anything about the black holes?' I asked Giles

'Yes' he replied 'since Angelus came back, he's caused an imbalance in life. He was meant to be dead and was brought back. Our theory is he may have killed someone else to undo the balance, but that doesn't seem to be accurate as the black holes are still occurring.'

'You're right, he's a vampire he could just kill anyone why hasn't he?' Xander asked.
