A Typical Summer (One Direction Fan Fic)

Chapter 1: Intro.

Here's the first chapter :) hope you enjoy! Little hint: One direction does not show up for a bit so hang tight they will be there soon!

Hi, my name is Adalynne James and I was born and raised here in Winter, Wisconsin. I am 17 years old and I have golden brown hair with red accents, chocolate brown eyes, and I am about 5'5. I live in the woods with my parents as I am an only child. I am a junior in high school but my school year is ending soon. I am a very reserved kind of girl. I do not drink, smoke, do drugs or anything to that effect. I can be super shy but when you get to know me I am one of the most trusting people you could meet. I have a small group of friends but they are the best friends anyone could ask for. They are practically my sisters. I live 15 miles out of town where our school is so I have to drive every day. My best friend lives nearby so we switch off.  Today is the first day of our last week of school. These last few days are very important. Exams, exams, exams. These grades determine whether we will be seniors next year. I am very good in school but some of the subjects can get tough. I can't wait for summer to begin. I will be able to just hang with my friends and go swimming. Did I mention we have an open pit on our land? Yeah when the open mines closed they filled with water and now its like a big lake of some sort. Only my family is allowed on the half that is on our property. It's rather large so the other half is public property.

"Adalynne!! Wait up!" I heard as I walked to my first exam. It was my best friend Hadley. We are 4 months apart and we grew up together. She is like my other half. She has dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and stands at 5'6.  She is a really nice person and is always there for you. She is very loyal and bubbly. She is very social and always in a conversation with someone.  She is not shy.  I think that's why we get along so well. She is outgoing when I am not. If I didn't have her I would not have many friends. 

"Hurry up! We are going to be late for our first exam!!" I yelled in reply to Hadley.  She caught up to me and we made our way to our exams.

Finally it's the last day of school! I passed all of my exams with flying colors! Today is kind of a chill day. Parties in most classes and book returns.  Hadley passed as well. Tonight I am having a huge bonfire to celebrate summer. It's a tradition in my school. Everyone brings all their school papers and old notebooks and we burn them in celebration.  I can't wait. Since it is a half day Hadley and I are going to set up for the bonfire/party right away. 

First things first we have to go shopping for snacks and drinks. We throw every kind of snack imaginable in the cart and move on to drinks. I forgot to mention my parents are pretty well off if you know what I mean. You wouldn't know it by looking at me but that's because I don't understand people who are rich and have to flaunt it.  I would rather earn my money.  My parents do spoil me but it doesn't go unappreciated.  We also grab some glowsticks. I mean who doesn't love glowsticks? Once we have all we need and more we checkout and head back to my house.

Hadley and my mom unload the car while I go and set up the fire pit. I collect all of our chairs and set them in a big circle around the pit.  Hadley finishes up helping my mom and returns to help me stack the wood into a tee-pee form for the fire.  We have about 4 more hours until people will start arriving so we decide to watch a quick movie. 

We ended up watching Just Go With It. I love that movie!   It's so funny. We have about an hour until everyone will be here so now what. Since my room is a mess I figure while Hadley goes home to change I can clean up my room.

That passed about 45 minutes. I start getting ready and after 20 minutes of destroying my closet I found my perfect outfit. >>>(External Link to my polyvore) I loosely curled my hair and put on light makeup. Hadley pulled up in the driveway so I grabbed a light sweatshirt and headed downstairs. She looked stunning as always. >>>(external link to my polyvore)

We were both ready to go. This summer better not disappoint.
