“Then afterwards… when I kissed you for the first time. I remember exactly what happened. How nervous you seemed to be… But nothing else seemed to matter while we were kissing. It was like no one could ever separate us… And here we are now, and you’re still as beautiful as you were back then…”

I blushed and there was a split second before Harry erupted from the driver’s seat.

“Tate, I don’t know if you realize, but Maya is mine. Only mine. She will never ever in a million years be yours again. She loves me and only me,” my jaw dropped but Harry didn’t stop there, “So great, you two kissed. Big deal! Do you have the pleasure of falling asleep next to her every single night, or giving her kisses awake every morning? No. No you don’t. That’s because you and Maya were a thing of the past. Great, you two went to the prom together and you danced and kissed, but where are you now? You’re only a friend to her. That’s all you’ll ever be. Nothing more, nothing less.”

Harry continued yelling at Tate while I sat there, shocked that my husband could really be saying this. Tate started to answer back to him which only made Harry even madder.

“Stop!” I exclaimed finally.  Harry stopped at Niall’s apartment building and he hopped out of the car without saying goodbye. The little Irish boy ran into the big building, leaving the car deathly silent. Harry started driving again. No one said anything until I spoke up.

“You know what; I don’t know who I love anymore.” Harry turned to look at me and I shot him a look that said I was not happy.

            “Maya…” Harry started.

“Stop! I’m talking now. I really can’t believe you two. I thought the two of you could become friends, but that obviously is not going to happen. I mean, how old are you two? Almost thirty? And you’re acting like five year olds.”

            “Maya, I…” Harry started again.

“Harry, just stop, I don’t feel like listening to you talk, or you either Tate.”

            “Maya,” Tate started.

“What did I say? No talking,” I commanded and he sat back in his seat. Harry looked at me, but I had my arms crossed over my chest and I stared out the windshield. I was furious at the two of them.

In ten minutes, Harry pulled up to Tate’s house and Tate mumbled a goodbye as he stepped out of the car. I felt like I was going to forgive Tate easier than Harry.

The rest of the ride home was silent.

I stomped inside our house and slammed the door shut behind me, not bothering to wait for Harry.

“Maya!” he exclaimed walking in behind me.

“What?! What do you want Harry?”

            “I’m sorry, okay?”

“No! You’re not sorry! If you were sorry you’d at least try to like Tate! But no, you go and get in a fight with him! I can’t believe you!”

“Maya…” Harry said trying to calm me down. He stepped up to me.

“Just stop okay? I don’t understand why you don’t realize that I have no feelings for Tate whatsoever! I only love you Harry, but you obviously don’t realize that!”
