32. Stating tours and TARDIS proposals'

At the lunch break Matt was still thinking about what he had done and Alex seeing how miserable he was walked to him.

“So what happened?” she asked sitting next to him and giving him a gentle smile

“Mai is going on a tour for six months. Well she is being offered the opportunity and she is thinking about taking it. And she is refusing to let me in. After everything we have been throe. I just don’t get it.” He said and Alex took a deep breath

“I hate to be the one to tell it to you kiddo but I do. Look the truth is that Maite is a bright ambitions woman she should take that opportunity.” Matt looked at her with angry eyes

“Whose side are you on?” Alex takes his hand and says

“No ones. I’m just saying that this is who she is and if you can’t deal with that then maybe you shouldn’t be together.”

Those words knocked Matt in to thinking what to do now. Does he love her really that much to committed to the rest of his life knowing that maybe one day she will live for good?

After speaking with James Mai called Ben. She needed somebody to listen to her. If she was home that would be Drew of even her mom. But she was in London she needed a trusted friend on this.

After telling him the whole thing he sighed not knowing what to tell her.

“That sounds like a quiet a opportunity.” Ben said holding his mug to his mouth

“It is.” She said as Ben smiled

“Your parents must be proud. I’m proud and I can just imagine Drew’s face when you told him.” She smiled at the thought of Drew’s wide smile on his face as she told him while they talked on Skype last time. “So what are you going to do?” he asked her and she become serious

“I don’t know Ben. It’s like I’m standing on a crossroads and i have to choose between Matt and my career.” Ben looks at her and asks

“Why do you think you have to choose?”

“Because he is right. If I go I might meet a new guy and he will get out of the picture. And if I don’t...” Ben continued

“It will be because of him. And you’ll end up resenting him for it.”

“Or worse. I don’t really know where this relationship is going.” She says puling her hear back with her fingers

“Look I know you love him and I know that when you get scared you hide in your music and you can be sure that whatever dissuasion you make it’s because that is what you want. Not because you are afraid.” She nods her head at that

“This tours what I want.” She says silently like a whisper

“Then tell him.” Ban pushes her

“He is going to hate me for that Ben.” Ben makes a deep sigh

“Well that is something you’ll have to live with then.” She receives a massage from James.

Are you going?

“I should go. Thank you for this.” She said smiling to him

“Anny time.”

Matt’s day of filming was over and he was looking at his phone thinking what to do when Karen walked in.

“You going to call he or what?” she asked looking at him

“I’m going to call her and she is going to come here. We need to talk.” He said to the ginger

“Are you going to be ok?” she asked and he just nodded his head taking his phone and dialing Mai’s number. It took her a few rings to pick up

“Hey it’s me. We need to talk can you come here.” He waited for her response which was positive I’ll be waiting for you on the TARDIS set.” When he hung up the phone he looked at Karen

“Let’s go eat. I’m feeling a little bit hungry.” He told her and she smiled as they took off towards the dining area.

When Mai arrived to Cardiff it was six PM the guard let her in to the set and she made her way towards the TARDIS set. Being here a million times made it easy for her to find it.

When she was finally there she saw matt sitting on the stairs of the TARDIS so she decided to join him by sitting next to him. He didn’t look at her his fingers were entwined and she decided to start first.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have kept secrets for you.” She said and he just nodded

“It’s who you are. You don’t let people in easy. I have the scratch and claw for every inch to know you.” She interrupted him

“Matt..” she stopped her

“Just let me finish. I’ve been thinking a lot about us and our relationship. Where we are heeded.” She nodded understanding and telling him to continue. “I’ve decided I want more.” At that moment her heart dropped she knew it was over between them “We both deserve more.” She nodded at his words

“I agree.” She says her voice strong but on the inside she was breaking apart.

“So whatever happens now and whatever you decide.” He gets down on his knees with the ring in his hand “Maite Perroni Beorlegui will you marry me?” he asks and she seems surprised getting up

“Oh my God. Oh my God. Your proposing.” She says a little confused

“Ok you are surprised.” He says slowly getting up to his feet still holding the ring in his hand

“Of course I’m surprised I thought you were breaking up with me.” She said still shocked at his proposal

“By offering you a ring?” he says confused

“Well you seemed so serious....” in that moment he interrupts her

“Of course I’m serious. This is the most serious thing I’ve ever done.” As he says that she puts her arms around his neck and kisses him with so much passion as they part he smiles and asks “So that’s a yes?” she stops and says

“No wait...” he looks at her worried

“No?” she shakes her head

“No not no.” She tells him

“So yes?” he asks looking questionably

“Ummmm” she trails of and he asks again

“Not yes?” he asks

“No not not yes. I....” Now Matt is a little confused

“You do know how this works right?” he ask her and she takes a deep breath

“Look you need to know that I’m going to go to that tour.” He looks at her with a smile “Matt I love you and I need to do this.” She tells him

“I’m not proposing to you to keep you here; or because I’m afraid I’m gonna lose you. I’m proposing because I cannot imagine spending the rest of my life without you in it.”

He said and she smiled at that and says

“Well in that case Matthew Robert Smith yes yes I will marry you.” When she says that he takes her left hand and putts the ring on her finger. She laughs a little looking at the ring

“Wow. It’s big.” She says and he takes her hand examining it

“No. You just have remarkably tiny fingers.” They both laugh at that. She hugs his tight knowing that next year she will be known as Mrs. Smith.
