unlike him, and the total opposite of him too, yerim is naturally friendly and sociable, wearing her bright smile that seems to cheer anybody up, even those, who aren't exactly in a good mood. at their first meeting, he watched quietly behind his hyungs as she did most of the talking for her group, introducing herself to everyone and even chattering with the backstage staff, who took an instant liking towards her. as they were moving backstage after the ending stage, yerim called out to him, and all jeongguk remembered, was her doing most of the talking about how she was a fan of his group, and that his voice is rather soothing for her. even though he didn't talk much, and let the other do most of the talking, jeongguk was not even a bit nervous around her. instead, he found himself developing a liking being around her.

their meetings at stages increased more since then, with the two youngest staying along the hallway, having small conversations ― about their likes, dislikes and any other random topics, which are usually suggested by the other. and during their friendship, joengguk found himself being attracted to her romantically, and he was silently amazed that he didn't find himself stumbling or acting all nervous around her. in fact, he was pretty calm, and direct around her, able to talk comfortably without feeling shy. their face-to-face conversations then dwindled with the endings of their respective promotions, which only meant he had to ask her for her number.

"today is going to be our ending stage," yerim sighs softly, as she glances at her intertwined fingers, feeling a little sad that her group's promotions are finally approaching a closure, and also because she will be unable to meet their fans, until their next comeback.

"same here," jeongguk nods his head, feeling the sense of sadness within him and the reluctance to leave the stage. glancing at yerim, whose smile has dipped slightly with the ends of her mouth drawn downwards, the male unknowingly reaches across the little gap between them as he pokes her left cheek gently upwards, while giving his iconic bunny smile, "smile. think about it, you girls will work on a new comeback and you can return to your fans with a better image, right?"

the youngest of red velvet blinks a few times, before laughing, as her smile curls upwards ― the smile that the male has secretly fallen for as she nods her head, "that's true. but that will be months later." at the mention of 'months later', the male can't help but freezes slightly as he processes their current situation. the fact that they could interact these much is due to their similar schedules for their promotions, but with their ending stages that very day, it also means that the duo will be unable to meet up that often backstage to talk.

he then glances at yerim, who is waving towards some of the idols, who are walking past them while making small talk as he gulps nervously, wondering what he should do. he wants to continue keeping in contact with her, but he knows that due to their schedules, they will most likely be unable to meet up. he then catches sight of his hyungs, seokjin and hoseok, at the entrance of their waiting room, with their eyes sparkling at the sight of their youngest with a girl.

'what are you two doing?' he mouths at them, with a bewildered expression when he reads his hyungs' reply, 'ask for her number.' and by that one statement, jeongguk's eyes light up at their suggestion, yet, he clenches his fingers tightly, since it may be his first time asking a girl for her number.

one may think that with such good looks and charismatic personality, the male has tons of experience in asking for a girl's number, but little did they know that the youngest of bangtan boys is the most shy one out of all the members, and also among his friends, when it comes to picking up a girl. in fact, jeongguk can't even say a full proper sentence when trying to pick up a girl.

'do it, or else you're going to regret!' seokjin urges him from far, as the youngest returns his attention onto the younger female, who is bidding goodbye to some of the idols, before facing him with her usual bright expression. "i forgot to tell you, but i be changing my hair color soon, so what color do you think i should dye?"
