I stand outside of the school, waiting for my older brother to drive by and pick me up on his way home from class. My brother, Kai, is in college. He refuses to tell me what he's majoring in; probably because I annoy the actual hell out of him. As I flip through my book, I hear footsteps nearing me. I pretend not to mind them, maybe they aren't mean. Maybe they're normal, like I once was, or maybe they just want to be friends. Without looking up from my book, I put my hand out, stopping the boy from coming any closer,"Seriously what did you eat for lunch?" I look up at boy from earlier, Liam. He scoffs,"Nothing, but I know what you had" Liam mutters. I close my book with a snap and turn to face him. "And what's that?" I smiles sarcastically, crossing my arms. He hesitates,"A big ol' plate of anger" he crosses his arms as well. I shake my head, waving a finger at him,"No no, you see I had a bit of anger along with a spoonful of regret and just a dash of sass." Liam looks intimidated. Good. I sigh and readjust myself so that I am leaning against the wall once more,"So, Where's your over protective father?" He looks at me confused, and before he could ask I clearing my question,"Scott." Liam chuckles,"Oh, He has a date with Kira I think," he sighs. I raise a brow and glance at him,"Oh," was my only response as I go back to looking for my brother's car. Liam leans his shoulder against the wall, his opposite hand in his front pocket and the other gripping his backpack. I can feel him staring at me,"You seemed to have calmed down. A lot" he says to me. I shrug and glance around the parking lot,"My five senses work increasingly better than they did two days ago, and i still don't know why. What's there not to be calm about?" Liam continues to stare at me. I turn to face him abruptly,"Is there something stuck in my hair or something?" I ask, slightly frustrated. He shakes his head,"No, just curious as to how you can be so damn irritating" he flashes a smile. I roll my eyes as I hear my brother's car pull into the lot and pull up in front of us,"My ride's here." I mutter and start walking toward my brother's car. Liam walks next to me,"What's your name anyways?" He asks, watching me get in the car. I huff and roll down the window,"Don't worry about it, okay? it's not like you're not going to see me tomorrow." I tap the dashboard of my brother's car and he starts driving away. I watch from the side mirror as Liam paces around a bit, rubbing the back of his neck then shaking his head. I sigh, watching him as he walks back into the school. My brother has a smirk on his face when I turn to him,"What?" I ask. Kai glances at me,"Oh nothing, who uh, who's your-" I punch him in the gut, cutting off his sentence,"Who's who?" The smirk is now on me. Kai is silent the rest of the ride. When we arrive home, I'm the first to jump out and grab my backpack, slamming the front door of my house open. Without saying a word to my parents, I go straight to my room, jumping on my bed and closing my door behind me. My thoughts consume me as I stare out of my window, pondering the events that recently occurred. I lay back against my bed frame, watching the world go by as I slowly slip into a nap.
