"Go! You must keep the child safe. He's the bearer of the Bolt." Said the hooded man.
"I'll hold them off for as long as I can. Make sure to use Serpent's Path. No one will be able to follow you there." He added, and then a loud roar of thunder echoed around us.
"Go! Now!"
The hooded man chanted a spell, suddenly a thick fog engulf our surroundings. By the time we reached the entrance of the Serpent's path, we heard an explosion coming from the direction where we parted and then I saw a black smoke coming towards us.
We hurriedly entered the cave and run endlessly. It is a long way that is full of turns. It's not called Serpent's path for nothing really. As our long journey is about to end, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. Right at the very end i saw a woman standing still, as if she's waiting for our arrival.
My sight is getting clearer and clearer as I approach the woman. I was shock to see a familiar face.
"Dianne, what are you doing here?" I asked
"A Holy Knight came to our house yesterday and he asked me to come here, he said that I should wait for your return here with the Bearer?" She explained
"Is it him?" she asked
"Yes, he's such a good boy. He obeys everything I ask." I replied
"What's his name? How old is he?" Dianne
"Quezzacult, he's 3 as of today. "
I put him down, took off his hood and faced him to Dianne.
"Quezza, she's Dianne." I said while pointing at Dianne.
He gave a delightful smile at me and then hold Dianne's hand. I felt happy and confused at the same time because for a child he's too tamed and trusting.
Dianne and Quezza walked towards the hut hand in hand. Meanwhile I went back to the exit of the Serpent's Path. And to my surprise, the exit suddenly disappeared.
There's no trace of it anymore. Just a stone wall plastered on a cliff... I tried touching the walls to see if I could pass through but it is as hard as ordinary stone wall. The path really disappeared.
"Nathan? What's the matter?" Dianna called
"O-oh, No-nothing. " I said then turned to face them.
Quezza is gesturing me to come and I bid him. We went inside the hut and spent the night there.
