The Return

September 1st 1973, The Marauders 3rd year at
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

A young fawn haired boy stumbled into kings cross station, he had pale pink skin with dark freckles dusting his cheeks and hands. He wore a wool sweater that was the shade of dark pine needles, and cheap tam dress pants, his brown Loafers a size to large. He grinned at another young boy that was waving at him across the bridge that overlooked the station. "MOONEY!!" The other boy yelled in excitement as he tackled the fawn haired boy with a hug.

This boy despite only being a young teenager already had a dark, thick, curly bun that sat atop his head. He had a golden tan and dark brown eyes. He dawned a black leather jacket and matching black, ripped jeans a pair of checkered vans on his feet.

"Padfoot, it's great to see you!!..although i wouldn't have missed you as much Sirius if you had actually wrote me!" Mooney chuckled his pale cheeks blushing slightly from the sudden contact. The dark haired boy smiled hugely "i meant to write Remus i really did." He said guiltily scratching the nape of his neck.

Remus shook his head and began walking towards platforms 9 and 10 "I'm guessing James, and wormtail are already at platform 9 and 3/4?" Remus said glancing at Sirius from the side.
"Yeah, they wanted to get to the sweets before everybody else" Sirius smirked "but i ain't a kid, i don't need sweets I've got these bad boys" he yanked out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and watched Remus's face with an excited glint in his brown eyes. Remus's mouth turned into an O and his eyes grew large he grabbed the pack and tosses them into a rubbish bin, glancing around to make sure no passerby's saw.

"What the hell moony?!!!" He growled shoving the boys arm. Remus shook his head shamefully "Sirius those things will kill you." He said in annoyance "besides it's against school rules, just buy some chocolate frogs they're much better." He said as they came to a stop at platforms 9 and 10

"I haven't any money" Sirius admitted sheepishly sticking his hands in his pockets, it was only then that Remus realized that all Sirius had brought with him was a small backpack that was slung across his shoulders. His school supplies must have been provided by the school.

Remus bit his lip and ever so slightly flicked his wand faintly murmuring a spell. "Not even a single knut?" Remus asked "have you even check your pockets you dork" Sirius shot him a look and yanked out his pockets as if to say 'yes they are clearly empty' but they weren't, in fact several galleons and sickles fell out of his pockets "what the---" before Sirius could put together what happened Remus ran towards the brick column and vanished onto the other side. Platform 9 and 3/4s

The beautiful glistening red train awaited them on the other side, it's engine puffing light grey smoke as the whistle alerted passengers that they would be leaving in 5 minutes. Sirius came through right behind Remus, a confused look scrawled across his handsome face. "Better hurry, 5 minutes till the train departs." Remus said nervously as he sprinted onto the train his trolley rolling behind him. Sirius strolled behind him walking casually fiddling with the coins that had 'mysteriously' appeared in his pocket.

"Compartment 11!" Sirius told Remus as he climbed onto the train. He nodded and began walking down the isles until he reached compartment 11 where another tan dark haired boy with thick glasses sat across from a skinny blonde boy with a bad case of acne, a large pile of sweets sat between them as they snacked smiling goofy smiles.

Almost as soon as Remus had slid open the doors he was being greeted by the blonde boy. "Remus, Sirius you made it!!" He said excitedly going in to hug Sirius but getting refused. "Sit down wormtail it's not like I'm they're the minister"  the boy with glasses scoffed.

As they both slid their luggage onto the racks above the seats and sat side by side across from the other boys, 'wormtail' began eating a box of Bertie Botts every flavor beans without so much as wincing.
"Merlin peter your breath is going to reak!" Sirius proclaimed holding his nose dramatically and fanning himself. The glasses boy laughed and Remus narrowed his eyes "James, Sirius, be NICE peter your breath wont 'reak' but i would suggest eating some peppermint bark afterwords just in case." He said with a sympathetic smile.
Peter nodded as he shoved another handful of beans in his mouth.

Sirius shoved Remus's arm again "you're such a baby" he teased as remus rolled his eyes.

James smirked "did ya see lilly in compartment six? I swear she gets prettier everyday" he rubbed his hands together excitedly "I'm going to ask her out in the great hall tonight." He blurted with a huge grin.

Sirius chocked on the gummy slug he'd been eating, he heaved and clutched the seat as Remus smacked his back a little Harder than necessary. After he got done coughing he sat up his face blood red "she's already turned you down six times moron."  He sputtered over the laughter of the group.

Outside the train the sun glistened across the windows, and if you looked close enough you could see the outline of four boys laughing and horsing around as they were being taken to school which unlike you and me, they looked forward to all summer.
