Chapter 1: Stuck In A Daydream
Sophie lazed around in the luscious green meadow, the bright sun tickling her small tanned arms. The warm summer breeze swept past her flowing chocolate hair as she giggled in delight. This was her heaven. The calm air began to whistle her name, Sophie, Sophie, it hummed. Then it began to get louder...
"Sophie! Sophie! For goodness sake wake up you need to be in college in 20 minutes!" Aunt Sybil shrieked pulling the warm duvet from the dazed girl.
"Well, don't just sit there rubbing your eyes, get up!" she continued, marching to the girl's wardrobe and throwing a grey generic uniform onto her bed. "You have 10 minutes to get ready," she huffed, returning downstairs.
Sophie brushed a hand through her messy chocolate locks, smiling at the accounts of her once perfect dream.
"Why does everything have to come to an end!" Sophie groaned, crawling out of her warm sanctuary. Slowly, she began to shuffle into her boring uniform, before pulling her hair into a messy high ponytail. "It's not like anybody's going to see me," she contemplated, throwing her rose skin cream and light foundation back down onto her drawer and settling with a hint of Vaseline.
Grabbing her phone with one hand and slinging her Vans rucksack over her shoulder, Sophie trudged down the stairs- another Monday was soon to be over.
As she reached the final stair, she inhaled the aroma of burnt toast and Weetabix. Rolling her hazel eyes, and letting out a sigh, she pushed the wooden door open and plodded into the kitchen.
"Sophie, are you ready? We're leaving now, whether you've eaten or not!" Sybil ordered.
"Yea, Aunt, let go," she returned, grabbing a crispy slice of black toast and throwing a Kellogs cereal bar into her pocket.
"Another boring day in this dump!" Sophie thought, shuffling into her clunky leather shoes and opening the front door to a vast array of dark clouds.
The car journey was the same as usual. Aggressive drivers banging their fists and thumping their horns while dazed pedestrians were taking refuge under huge umbrellas.
Sophie blankly stared out of the condensed window, hoping to see anything relatively interesting, but as usual, Monday was the same dull day as the last week. Traffic curved all down the heaving road and swearing could be heard from her auntie as they stood stationery on the bleak carriageway.
After several tiresome minutes, her car pulled up a couple of blocks away from Sophie's school.
"I'm dropping you off here today, the traffic is horrendous, you can walk the rest of the way," Sybil ordered.
"But...it's raining!" Sophie huffed, opening the car door and swinging her bag onto her back.
"Don't take that tone with me! For that, you can walk tommorow!"
"Sorry auntie," she murmured.
Sybil revved the car.
"Oh and you can make your own tea tonight, I'm coming home late!" her auntie shrieked over the loud engine, before re-joining the busy traffic.
Sophie felt even more deflated.
"Ugh, I hate my life!" she angrily yelled, kicking a crushed can across the street and attempting to take shelter under her now hoisted-up bag.
"You know....sometimes I feel the exact same way," a voice said.
Sophie whipped her head around in shock and stared at what stood before her. It was a handsome man, with steel blue eyes that pierced straight into here. His golden locks shone despite the dark sky and pouring rain. He wore a tight blue shirt accompanied by a smart blazer and pristine leather shoes. He held a big black umbrella in one hand and an expensive looking briefcase in the other.
"Who...who are you?!" Sophie stuttered, trying to regain some confidence.
"Oh do excuse me, where are my manners! I'm Tom, Tom Hiddleston."
The mysterious man smiled, setting Sophie into a frenzy of feelings.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Sophie."
"Oh, its wonderful to meet you Sophie!
I was wondering if you could possibly help me. You see, I'm a bit lost and I need to find this street." He showed her a small scrap of paper.
"Oh...yes of course. It's just down the street to the left."
"Ah, thankyou ever so much!" Tom exclaimed, performing a small bow to the girl.
"Oh yes... my pleasure!" Sophie laughed, doing a courtesy.
"Well, I do hope our paths will cross soon Sophie."
"Oh...erm.....well....me too!" the timid girl squeaked.
As the man was about to turn around, he looked at Sophie with his beautiful striking eyes and said,
"Ah, it would seem you are in need of an umbrella. Here."
Tom smiled and passed over his large umbrella to the stunned girl.
"Erm... no I couldn't possibly take this!" Sophie babbled.
"Don't worry about it, here see it as a token of my gratitude for all your help!"
The man winked at Sophie as she stared at the umbrella, pure shock in her eyes. Nobody had ever been such a gentleman like that to her, let alone a complete stranger.
"Well...erm, thankyou so much sir!" Sophie said, smiling at her saviour, who returned the gesture.
And with that, the mysterious, sexy man disappeared into the misty street, running through the pouring rain.
Sophie, now completely drenched,
remained stood in the middle of the street. She smirked to herself, before exclaiming,
"Sophie, what are you doing, this isn't you! Men are distractions, remember what happened with Matt..."
The sudden mention gives her shivers down her spine.
A few seconds passed before Sophie returned to civilisation and glanced at her wrist watch, before shouting,
"Oh shoot, I'm so late!"
Sophie began sprinting down the street, adjusting her bag and grasping the umbrella, the kind gentleman still lingering in her thoughts.
