I'm failing in art class so tutor me? (Deidara)

You took the paper from the professor's hand with a steely look on your face, not expecting much, but desperately hoping that it would be better than what you were anticipating. Holding it away from you for a moment, you took a deep breath, before finally looking at it and what grade you had gotten. Instantly you let out a groan of despair, slamming your head onto the table and debating whether or not to sit back up. You should have known—it was an F. Again. You just couldn't understand it. You'd chosen to do art because you loved it. Actually doing and making pieces, and learning about the different styles and artists that had come before. So why was it that you were doing so badly? You tried so hard, and yet the highest you had ever gotten was a D, and you were pretty sure that was just a fluke. It was at times like this when you had to wonder whether you were cut out for this. If you were going to fail anyway, why not just quit while you were ahead and choose something else? But the idea of walking away from it with how much you loved art just didn't sit easily with you—you just hadn't a clue how to get around the issue.

It didn't exactly help when you heard a soft chuckle from across the table as everyone began to leave. Ready, at least, to get angry at whoever was willing to make fun of you, you now sat up again, a glare on your face as you made eye contact. Things only got worse as you saw who it was. Deidara was top of the class—it was well known how good he was at art, in every sense. You had never known whether to be jealous of him or pissed off that he was taking all the artistic talent. He could have at least left a little over for you—then maybe you wouldn't be failing right now. But looking at him made it hard to be angry when he was that gorgeous. That was well known as well. He distracted you often enough for it be obvious. If it wasn't for the fact he was so annoyingly good at art you might have considered it a crush. But until he started failing as well, the glare remained on your face as he smirked back at you, causing you to growl in irritation,

"You really enjoying laughing at those beneath you, don't you? Asshole."

His smirk didn't fade at your comment, but he shrugged and glanced away, not looking as smug and malicious as you had expected, replying as he did so,

"Actually, I was laughing at your reaction, (y/n), un."

Blinking in surprise, you weren't sure what to say, having not known he knew your name. Feeling flustered at this fact, you looked down, seeing the piece of paper in your hands again and your mood dropping even more. At least if he hadn't known who you were, you were just a random stranger failing the class, but he actually knew your name. Knowing he was still standing there watching you, you couldn't bring yourself to look at him again, feeling more ashamed of your grades than you wanted to. A sense of despair came over you, a wave of frustration and anger appearing a second after, causing you to glare at the paper and spit,

"Forget it. I'm not getting anywhere with this. I might as well put my energy into something that I can actually get results out of."

"You can get results out of this, un. And it's obvious you like the subject—why give up on it, un?" Deidara immediately returned, causing you to look up at him in disbelief, wondering just why now, of all times, he had decided to give you a pep talk. You weren't usually one to give up on things, true, but with the way your day had turned out, you weren't really in the mood for the guy with the highest results in class to tell you 'oh, don't be like that, it's easy', 'just try harder', or, your personal favourite, 'maybe if you concentrated properly you wouldn't get such bad grades'. It meant you glared once again at him, snapping in frustration,

"Oh really? And what, I'm just supposed to magically start getting A's now you've said that? Or what, you're personally going to tutor me to make sure I pass?"

"Sure," he shot back, leaving you utterly speechless. You hadn't been expecting that. It hadn't even really been an offer, and as such you had no idea how to respond. Raising an eyebrow at the fact you hadn't responded, he grinned at the cute expression on your face and shook his head, making the decision for you as he stated bluntly,

"Meet me at the library at seven, un. I'll be waiting for you," before winking and finally leaving the room. A smile slowly blossomed onto your face as he left, gradually understanding just what had happened, and debating whether or not you were more excited at the idea of Deidara tutoring you rather than getting your grades up, you packed up and headed out of the room in a much better mood.

The day was turning out a lot better than you expected.
