[{ season 5 - ... }]
started:...
With every step, Nora could feel the cold and hard metal of her gun being pushed harshly on her right temple. With every step, feelings of fear and anger built within her. With every step, her heart beat one beat faster than it had in the seconds before, and her thoughts began to drift.
What about the others? Did they get somewhere safe?
What if they need help? What if they need help, and I can't help them because I'm stuck with this asshole?
I swear to God if he kills me after all this--after everything that he has done to me... I'd love to come back as an eater and rip his stomach open.
Her thoughts were pulled back into reality as the Alpha pushed her towards the outer opening that led to the basement. To her right was a brick wall--about as tall as her--with black rails mounted at the top. In front of her was a brick stairwell, leading to the ground level where the eaters roamed the streets.
The Alpha pushed her hard, dropping the grip he had on her. Nora stumbled forward and tried to maintain her balance. She gripped onto the metal bars and parted her lips as she looked through them and the shrubbery around them. Eaters were walking in every direction and in close distances. It frightened her, but she couldn't let it show--not now, and not in front of him.
He moved to stand beside her as she gazed at the eaters, poking the gun into her side below her ribcage. He smiled slightly, and Nora could feel the hot and nauseating breath coming from his mouth. It disgusted her. His very being was making her feel sick and weak. She looked down, suddenly feeling a queasy feeling in her stomach. Her knuckles turned white and her hands ached as she held tighter on the metal bars.
"When there's an opening, we'll make a break for that tower," the Alpha said quietly, not wanting to draw attention with the dead.
"What if I slow you down? I'm not as fast as I was with all these injuries you've given me."
The Alpha stopped and dwelled upon her thought. After all these years, he's never really thought of what a bone would do if it was broken and not held in place. Would it heal incorrectly? Is that why Nora can't seem to run for long distances without causing sharp and extreme pains to shoot through her feet, legs, and hips?
"I'll drag you with me," he responded. "You're making it out of here with me. No matter what."
She looked back up from the ground and arched her back so she could turn to face him. She glared at him and took steady breaths.
"Why?" she asked as she shook her head. "Are you just dying to finish what you started? Are you just aching and itchin' to kill me--to make me pay for ruining your plan to beat the hell out of me every day?"
