Letter 37

Dear my precious Ruby,

I'm writing to you from the same place you left me, as always. I keep waiting for something, a call, a letter back. But nothing comes. Someone saw the tattoo of your name and said she knew you. She wouldn't say how, but I think I know.

The other day, I was wondering, do you still draw me? Does my picture still wilt in your wallet or is there a new girl? Lately, that's all I can think about. Who replaced my picture like I replaced some other girl's? I'd like to hope you didn't replace me, that you still think of me, that you still paint gardens of roses.

I might get out soon. One of the nurses told me if I pass the test, I'll be able to. I know all the right answers now, so I'll pass. Then I can meet you in New York.

We can be together again.

Please write back this time, I want to know where I can see you.

Love,

          Roseline
