♣️Chapter 35 ✖Entombment❌

Start from the beginning

"No matter how hurt I am, I wouldn't miss this for the world."

Charlotte gives me a small smile. "Thank you for planning all this. I just couldn't bring myself to do it." She puts her hair behind her ears. "Even when Skyler was on drugs, I always thought she'd be the one that buries me. Not the other way around." Tears form in her eyes. "No parent should ever have to bury their child."

I hug her once again. "I'm sorry this is happening."

"It's not your fault Diana."

'If only she knew.'

"Everyone, please take your seats." The pastor says. Everyone does as told. Charlotte sits to my right and Simon to my left. "We are here today to pay our tribute and our respect to a woman of God, our sister, Skyler Evans. When I think of Skyler, I think of the verse in Revelation that says: Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'" "Yes," says the Spirit," that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them."

The pastor goes on and on preaching about the word of God and how this isn't the end of Skyler. I zone out for a while until someone taps my shoulder.

"Diana its time for you to go up there," Simon says. I nod, standing up. My heart clenches, once I'm on the stage. My eyes go from the people to the red casket. I clear my throat, before speaking. "Two we..." I clear my throat. "Two weeks ago I lost my best friend. My sister. Meeting her was the best thing that ever happened in my life." Sniffling I realize that I was now crying. "There are so many things I'd give up just to see her again, just to feel her embrace, see the warmth in her eyes, and be surrounded by her love." I turn to the red casket. "Words cannot express how much I miss you. You'll always be a part of my life. May you rest in paradise, Skyler." Reaching into the bowl, I pick up some dirt and throw it onto the casket. "I'm so sorry you had to spend your last moments in the presence of that monster. I promise I'll kill that son of a bitch." I whispered the last part to her.

Walking off the stage, Simon and Charlotte call my name. "I need a moment," I say loud enough for the both of them to her. They fall back, and I speed walk into the cometary office and into the bathroom.

A lone tear traces down my cheek and just like that, it became a lot. So many tears burst forth, spilling down my face. My chin trembles as if I was a child. I breathe heavier than supposed to, gasping for air that wasn't there. Arms wrap themselves around my body. "Breathe Diana." He says. It's like my body obeys. My tears stop and I quickly pull myself together. Pushing him away, I take a step back and look at him. I haven't seen him since that day. That horrible day.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

He looks at me and sighs. "I just wanted to pay my respects."

Chucking humorously, I place my hands on my hips. "You're the reason she's dead, so I don't see why you are paying your respects."

Levi frowns. "Diana that's not fair, you know I had no choice."

"Yes, you did!" I yell. "You had the choice of keeping your mouth shut!"

Levi scoffs. "Keep my mouth shut and what? Watch him kill my best friend and fuckin sister, who might I add has been missing for four whole years."

"So it was only right that my best friend died right?!"

"Don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say that."

"You just did!"

Levi steps closer to me, but I take a step back. "Diana I'm sorry."

"Sorry doesn't do shit! I lost the only person who ever understood me because of you!" I yell. "I can never see her again and it's all your fault."
