I woke up in a white bed surrounded by a thick curtain that wrapped around the course of my bed. I didn't know where I was or how I got here.

When my eyes opened wider I noticed that I was in a hospital room and the beeping that I heard was not just in my head, but the machine next to me.

I blinked a couple of times to relieve the soreness in my eyes and took a few deep breaths. A nurse walked in beside me and smiled. She turned around and shouted 'She's awake!' into the hallway, which was followed by a rush of footsteps entering the room. She pulled back the curtain and I turned away from the outside light and nursed my sore head.

The nurse came closer and checked the machine next to me.

"What happened? Why am I here?" I asked. Michelle and Tristan came over to each side of the bed. Tristan grabbed my hand and I felt the temperature difference between us. My hand was freezing and his was only room temperature, but it burnt me at the touch.

"You nearly died," Tristan said softly and then smiled, "But you're here now." What a way to break it to me easily.

I tried to sit up in the bed but every fiber in my body ached. Tristan aided me in lying back down on the hospital bed.

All of a sudden, my mom walked in the door with a bouquet of flowers in her hands. They were white roses, which were my favorite.

"Mom!?" I asked. Either I was very delirious or she was actually here.

"She was coming over to visit your dad, and now that you're in hospital too we thought it was best that she came and saw you too..." Michelle said softly. She was soothingly running her hands through my hair.

My mom came over to me and placed the roses on the bedside table. I didn't know what was wrong with me or why I was hooked up to so many machines.

"Can someone just tell me what happened to me?" I asked, "Please?" I looked particularly at Tristan, who was still gripping strongly onto my hand with both of his.

"Someone spiked your drink last night Mae. There was an incredible intoxicating drug found in your system, which caused you to black out and send your body into a near coma," the nurse replied.

What?

"Who spiked my drink? That's not possible, I wasn't drinking last night Tristan, remember?" I looked to Tristan for support but he didn't meet my eyes.

"Someone gave you some cordial last night and we don't know who, but they spiked it in an attempt to knock you out. You're lucky we were there," Tristan mumbled. He seemed quite pissed off about the whole occurrence.

The nurse read out some reports that stated that I had my stomach pumped and all the liquid from last night had been removed from my system and now I was just attempting to heal my stomach. I had to keep my hydration levels high to restore the fluids that I had lost.

The nurse left, which left me with Tristan, Michelle, my mom and Bruce.

"What about filming? I have to be on set today!" I complained to Tristan. I just wanted to get out of the bed and get onto set to film. I was fine.

Tristan looked at Michelle with a frown on his face and vice versa.

"Mae, I think you should take this week off," Tristan murmured quietly.

"What do you mean? It's my job!"

"You've been cut from this episode," he exclaimed.

"How? I'm the main character..."

Michelle stopped stroking my head and attempted to find a vase for the roses. Tristan explained to me the media that had happened over night and how the entirety of Hollywood thought that I was involved in a failed drug overdose, which landed me in hospital.
