there came a time
when I was faced
with the daunting task
of speaking about
mental health

not now. too sudden

even though
i had been handed this
great responsibility

i spoke

And i spoke

And i cried

1000 eyes piercing

every inch of my flesh

but you

held my hand

so i

fought through the rain and

kept speaking

at that moment
i knew
i had arrived at
the peak
of the mountain
of fortitude

for if I held
the life of another
in the palm of my hand
was obligated to
clench my fist
in order to save them
from themselves?
yes
it was my duty
as a survivor
