[chapter.02]

🌕

"Mr Silver, Mr Silver look, look!" The young child called out.

Her blonde hair bounced in the autumn breeze as she raced towards the old oak tree. Her unique grey eyes shone brightly as her giggles filled the forest sky. The sun's rays caught the reflection of a unique necklace that laid on the child's chest. It was a silver pendant. In the center was a crystallised moon. At the far-left hand side was an old oak tree, the branches of the tree covering the moon slightly, hiding it, protecting it. The sun's rays reflected against the crystallised moon causing a beautiful white shimmer to fall on the forest grounds.

The child fell at the bare foot of the male, whose eyes were previously closed as he relaxed peacefully against the trunk of the tree.

"Be careful Rae." The male spoke, opening his lilac eyes slowly.

"Mr Silver look! I collected pretty flowers. for you" The child smiled brightly, her body bouncing up and down slightly with excitement.

"That you did my dear, thank you, they are beautiful," He said smiling warmly, taking the picked flowers from the child's tiny hands.

The child smiled wide as she raced back over to the patch of flowers. Her giggles filling the air as she began to pick the flowers once more, her grey eyes mesmerised by the different colours. A chuckle left the males lips as he rose from his resting position, the sun highlights his features more. The horns that escaped the corners of his head glistened in the morning rays, his long white hair falling behind in the autumn winds as he walked towards the child.

He knelt in front of her, his robe resting on the forest floor gently as he paused for a moment to take in the happiness the child was giving of. With a soft grip, he stopped the child's movements, pulling her gently to face him. The child stopped, looking up at the male with wondering eyes. The male smiled at the child's confused expression.

"Would you like to see a trick, Rae?" The male asked to receive a frantic nod from the child.

"Okay, close your eyes," He said softly, the child eagerly covered her eyes waiting patiently.

The male smiled as he glanced around at the flowers around the pair. His hands slowly began to move in a circular motion before he signaled to the child to uncover her eyes once more. An excited gasp left her lips as she looked at the beautiful petals dance around her in the autumn wind. She began to laugh loudly, the happiness in her tone soaking into the positive atmosphere around her. Warm hands appeared at her sides and the child looked up to see the male glance down at her with a warm smile.

"Get ready to spin," the male said, throwing the child up into the floating petals.

The child laughed, her body automatically spinning for her. She opened her arms and closed her eyes.

She was flying through the sky

Gravity quickly began to pull her back and she squeezed her eyes shut awaiting the familiar touch from the male.

But received nothing.

Her body continued to fall.

Terrified screams left her lips, her hands frantically trying to grip onto anything to pause her movements.

But there was nothing there.

She was going to die.

She felt body come to a sudden stop and she cautiously opened her eyes once more to see darkness looking back at her. She tried to sit up only to hear the sound of chains echoing around her. The girl frantically looked around the room, the bare cold walls greeting her gaze. From her search, there was only a bed and a single chair in the room. The girl began to feel the panic pick up in her stomach once more, as she tried to fight against the chains.

At this time, the sound of a door opening echoed and a blinding light entered the room causing the girl to squint her eyes. A tall shadow entered the room before shutting the door. The light flickered on allowing a dim light to fill the room from the swinging single lightbulb hanging above. She glanced around the room once more in the light. She seemed to be in some sort of cell, the panic in her stomach began to increase.

The stranger cleared their throat, catching the girl's attention as she watched him cautiously. He sat down in the chair in front of her immediately taking out a notebook and a pen, flicking the pages before looking at the girl. His green eyes sent shivers down the girl's spine and his jet-black hair was styled upwards in a quiff. He fixed his glasses before reaching into his pocket once more taking out what seemed to be a recorder, placing it on the end of the bed and hitting record.

"Patient 001. Test three. Name: Rae Owen, Age: 18 years old, Gender: Female, Date: 17th October, Time: 10 pm." The male paused, getting comfortable on the chair.

"Now Rae, Let's try this again."
