I walked in the apartment from school. It seemed as if nobody was here, so I plopped onto the couch and turned on the TV. I was falling asleep when I heard someone say "Hello," so I jolted upright, and turned to where the voice came from. It was the asshole from yesterday, Jahseh.

"Um, hey. What do you want?" I asked. I thought nobody was here, so I was a bit surprised. He was really quiet, or just really sneaky.

"What happened?"

"Huh?"

"Last night. What happened?" I was confused for a moment, but then I remembered the nightmare I had, and my eyes widened. "That was you?" I asked, shocked.

"Yeah, what happened?" He repeated. I looked down. "Nothing."

"Don't say nothing. You can tell me the truth, it would be better to talk about it than to keep it to yourself, you'll regret it later, I promise." He sat beside me, and I felt I could talk to him about it, even though I didn't know him that well. I cleared my throat.

"Well, when I was younger... when I lived with my parents, they were abusive and uh, he tried to kill me once."

"Oh." He looked down. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be," I replied. "It's not your fault."

"It's not yours either." I shrugged. "I guess."

"Where are your parents now?"

"My dad's in jail, and my mom's... dead. Because my dad uh, killed her."

"That's really bad." He replied. I thought I could hear sympathy in his voice.

"Wanna go get something to eat?" He suddenly asked. I was confused, but nodded.

"Ski, where were you?" I asked, running up and hugging him as he came in the door.

"Calm down, just out, okay?"

"At 3 A.M?" I narrowed my eyes.

"Yeah, mom. Got a problem with it?" He laughed. I chuckled. "No. You just scared me."

"I'm fine, okay?" He said, hugging me back, and walked to his room.

I rolled my eyes and went to my room. I closed the door behind me and sat down on my bed, grabbed a random book, and opened it. Just as I did, the door opened and I looked up, surprised to see who it was. "Hey, Jahseh." I said, closing the book.

"You're such a nerd," He laughed.

"Yeah, but not as much as you!" I chuckled. I didn't know how we became friends so fast. Jahseh was just a good guy, he made me feel wanted somehow. I smiled at him as he came over and sat beside me.

"I've never heard you laugh before." I said. "I like your laugh." He smiled slightly at me.

"Thanks." He replied. We sat in silence for a few minutes.

"Could you, ya know, like stay with me again?"

"Why?" He laughed. "I can do more than that, if you know what I mean,"

I blushed. "N-no, just like, last night."

"Fine." He chuckled. I laid down in bed and he crawled in beside me.

"Don't go to school tomorrow." He suddenly said.

"What?" I looked at him, confused.

"I wanna hang out with you. You cool." He responded, smiling.

"I guess I can skip a day, for you." I laughed, and laid my head against his chest and he tensed up.

"Sorry, I-"

"It's okay." He laughed. "I like it."
