♠️Chapter 30 ❌The most wonderful time of the year✖

Start from the beginning

"I know, I never took my father as the cheating type."

"Same here."

"Dinner is ready!" Amanda yells. My ears perk up and I quickly dash towards the dining room, leaving Phoebe behind.

"Levi stop acting like an animal." Katherine scolds as I take my place at the dinner table.

"I will once you stop walking like you have something up your ass," I remark. Katherine gasps while Phoebe bites down her lips, trying not to laugh.

"I am your mother!"

"So you say."

Amanda comes out the kitchen glaring at us both. "Can you guys just get along, only for today. I mean it's Christmas."

I sigh heavily. "Fine, but only for you."

"Thank you."

The freshly roasted, golden brown Turkey laid on the table making my stomach grumble. The stuffing looked delicious and so did the chocolate brownies. Amanda poured creamy hot chocolate into all our mugs and added generous layers of whipped cream.

My Dad walks into the dining room, taking his seat by my mother.

"That was a long phone call." Katherine states.

My Dad scratches the back of his head. "Yeah, it was a client.

I fake cough. "Lies." Everyone at the dinner table turns to me, looking at me strangely. My Dad glares at me and Phoebe is seconds away from bursting out laughing.

"What was that Levi?" Asks Katherine.

"Oh, nothing, nothing at all Katherine," I say, taking a sip of my hot chocolate. For the first few minutes of dinner, no one really speaks, which creates an awkward tension around the table. My mind drifts to Diana, thinking about how much she doesn't like Christmas. As crazy as it sounds I still have her Christmas present from last year. Maybe one day I'll be able to give it to her.

"You okay?" Phoebe asks, softly bumping into my shoulder.

I give her a small smile. "I'm good."

Before she can ask anything else, Amanda interrupts. "Okay guys, it's time to open our present."

We all stand up and walk into the living room, sitting down on the couch. Amanda was the first to open her gifts. She got a pair of socks from dad, typical. A new set of shoes from Katherine and a pair of beats headphones from me. Next, it was Phoebe, she got a new Xbox console from me, and a new iPhone case from Amanda.

And now it was my turn. Opening my first gift it was a pair of socks. I turn to my father. "Seriously, what's with you and socks?" I ask.

"Seriously, you've been giving us the same gift for like three years," Amanda adds.

Dad shrugs. "Socks are cheap." He says.

Me and Amanda roll our eyes and I continue to open my gift. I blink in shock when I see my second gift. "How did you guys get this?" I ask Phoebe and Amanda since the gift came from them both.

"We contacted Elias's wife and she was more than happy to give them to you," Phoebe says, with a smile. I look back down at Elias's military dog tags and smile.

I pull both Phoebe and Amanda into a hug. "Thank you."

"No problem." They both say.

Now it was time for the last gift. I opened it and a sigh left my mouth already knowing who it was from. "Really Katherine?"
