Chapter 18: Introduction of a Foe

"Hey. Don't be like that." She chuckles. "I had a great night. Just exclude the crime part."

"Well... okay. I owe you one for that." He smirks.

"Sure." She nods. After that, seconds of silence, which seemed like forever, passed by and no one's speaking. Jae bit her lower lip.

Just do it!

"Uhm. Good night Kyungsoo-ah." She smiles warmly and goes one step forward to kiss Kyungsoo's cheek. "Thank you." She said afterwards.

Kyungsoo's eyes widened at the size of frying pans whilst his jaw hung a little. He awkwardly shook his head and cleared his throat from the creeping blush he's hiding.

"Uh yeah! yeah. You're welcome. Uh... I... I'll be going now." He cutely stammered and walked his way to his car. He pats his chest.

There there... calm down. It's just a mini heart attack. He transported brain messages to his heart.

Jae watched and giggles a little from Kyungsoo's reaction. She felt giddy like a child. Soon Kyungsoo honks as a sign of taking off. She waves and gets inside her house.

She immediately took a shower and changed to her pajamas. She dries her wet hair with a towel and jumps on her bed, enjoying the bouncy mattress.

She looked at her side table and grabs the heavy material to her center. "Hey mom. I really had a great day today. My work is really fun since I'm with Kyungsoo and everything. I think our feelings our mutual but I can't muster up the courage to confess so I'll just enjoy this little fluffy things we are sharing. I haven't seen eyesore these days. Not that I'm interested, just a little curious of what's he doing with his life. But anyway, I'll be visiting the orphanage tomorrow since it's a weekend..." She talked nonstop patting the grey marble jar. "And...I really miss you mom. I'm sure you're happy for me." She mumbles softly before putting it back to place.

A little later, she went to the living room and watched TV. She accidentally sees Shinee and smiles.

"I can't believe Taemin was there a while ago." She smiled to herself.

"What deal?" Jongin sneered impatiently.

"You stop from murdering, & I'll stop hindering you. It's such a waste to kill a handsome man like you." She hissed on Kai's ear.

"What makes you think I'll go with that? You're not the boss of mine." He blunts not really minding the knife pointed at him.

"Well then it's decided. Let's take our jobs professionally and never personally. Who knows? We might meet as civilians someday. If that happens..." Kai cuts her by holding her wrist and twisting it, grabbing her knife and throwing it aside. She spun herself around to avoid twisted bones and quickly attempts to kick his shin making him back away.

Kai takes a good look at her appearance. She's still on the red dress earlier but it was cut short. The loose part was gone, replaced by a black slick leggings. Her heels was turned to flat boots.

"You're too aggressive Kai. It turns me on." She smirks.

In a swish, Kai aimed a punch on his left fist and was about to hit her face when she dodged it by stooping down but on the process, she was caught off guard with the surprise blow from his right fist hitting her left cheek.

She stood up staggering like nothing happened and pats her burning cheek. "I love surprises." She smirks more not minding the growing pain whilst partially backing away.

Kai considerately planned beating her up til she was ONLY unconcious. He still took note of Daesuk's advice. But if Sung Joo still deserved it, then he would. Depends on the situation.

Sung Joo walked innocently to him and threw a side kick but he caught it. He admits, she must be a good fighter too.

She jumps using all the strength of her other foot, carrying her weight, to spin her leg 360 degrees and kick Kai's face.

Kai, immersed from holding her other leg, almost didn't have the fast reflex to dodge but he managed to duck down. Sung Joo's back is now facing Kai's front whilst he's still gripping her leg.

He pulls her forcely finally letting go of it putting them together into a tight backhug. Sung Joo slammed at his hard chest and was later secured with Kai's strong arms. She smirks in joy, feeling the perfect structure of Kai.

"It's better if you'd be on my list." Kai whispered to her ear. "You're a killer too huh?" He spoke. "Check!" She playfully exclaims in a hushed manner.

She looks down as a headstart only to butthead Kai's face, finally having a succesful attempt. She hits Kai's forehead, mouth, and the most hurting part, his nose. Her height was efficiently enough. He staggered backwards massaging his face whilst she took opportunity to escape.

"I'll flee for the meantime okay? Thanks for showing some moves! Let's meet again!" Sung Joo salutes curtly whilst chuckling disappearing from Kai's sight.

Kai wasted no time and headed to his car, parked somewhere not near from the auction place.

He held his nose to suppress the erupting blood. Just how many nerves was destroyed to have that much blood? But that didn't matter.

Soon he finds himself driving home whilst constantly wiping for straying blood staining his black cuffs.

Though it's not that serious (he thinks), he needed to aid himself right away.
