Chapter 1

"For channel 13 news, I'm Avery Grey, good night." I kept up my fake smile until I heard the buzzing noise and saw the commotion of the tech crew running frantically yelling about lenses and angles for tomorrow. I sprung up out of my chair and walked off the set. I went into my dressing room and examined myself in the mirror.

25 year old anchor on local news. Not a bad job, right? Wrong! Though no one else saw it, I had aged five years practically overnight! I looked at my face. High cheekbones, dark green eyes, nice full pink lips, perfectly groomed and styled blonde hair, and a rocking body if I do say so myself. I had everything anyone would want with their body and more. Except a good nights rest. I sat in my dressing room chair in front of a different mirror and started to take of my makeup. I usually didn't put on makeup, but coming to work today, for some reason I didn't feel so hot. After I was done with my make up, I pulled a hair tie off my arm hiding under my suit, and put my hair into a pony tail.

I put a cup of water in the mini microwave and set the timer for a minute. While the water was warming up, I ripped off my professional clothes, took the water out of the microwave, and changed into my "I don't give a crap about my appearance" sweats and I put on my soft "okay maybe i care about my appearance a little" shirt. I grabbed my cup of steamy water and plopped in a mint tea bag and two spoonfuls of sugar. I peeked my head out of my changing room and looked for anyone who would want to chat with me about anything. When the coast was clear, I put my headphones in and bolted out of my room and down the hall. I made it outside and I fumbled with my car keys until I finally got in.

My car roared to life. No matter how shitty my day was, hearing the roar of my cherry red 2013 ZL1 Chevy Camaro made my life worth living. I had the sense someone was watching me. I looked in my mirror between the console and jumped at the shadowy figure in the seat. I jumped, or rather fell, out of my car and on the wet blacktop. I got up and examined the window and noticed it was just a bunch of suits I had recently had dry cleaned. Yep, it was official, this hot news actor was ling overdue for a goodnights sleep.

I should have felt it when I parked my car, 10 miles from the station later. I took off my heels and started walking barefoot throughout the thick grass and into my house, but before I could get there, I felt a sharp pain in my neck. It wasn't long before the ground shifted and the grass came in contact with my face. I didn't fall I swear...gravity and principles of all things physics turned off for that one moment and only where I was walking....okay maybe I did take a tumble, but the point is I was out cold.

I remember hearing the grass rub and fold against eachother. As the FOOTSTEPS got closer my body panicked. I tried to look, but my body lay there limp and paralyzed. I just saw the rugged leather boots and heard the voice that sent chills down my spine.

"Miss Avery Grey, I'm sorry we had to meet like this, but I just frankly didn't like the news tonight." my body lifted from the ground limp, and my body was painfully thrown into a car limp. A single tear rolled down my cheek and into my mouth as we sped off, my body...was still limp. Chapter 1
