we were walking
on the beach -
mission bay winds surrounding
we were walking
on the sands,
naïve high schoolers
pretending to be philosophers.
we were walking
on the beach
to try to forget the fact
that life is only
a thing you drift through
we were trying to forget
the eternal temporariness
