Indonesia's Public School System

I just don't understand why it's effective. But first let me tell you how it works btw this is the highschool's system

School begins at 6.30 am and it ends at 3.00 pm that's first things first thats already 8 hours. oh and If we have extracurricular activities (WHICH WE MUST HAVE) we go home at 5.00 pm, even some students get home by 6.00 pm. That's the whole day. We also have homeworks, projects, group projects. We have so little time to step outside the "school zone" if you get me, we have little to no time interacting with our family or friends outside of school, let alone doing our hobbies. as you know hobbies are very important because it shows what we love to do. It makes us to be more creative individuals. I just think it's toxic how schools are crushing our creativity by doing that.

Students also go to tutors to understand more of the school lessons. And there's a lot of students that invest in learning by tutors too. This is already a sign that the teachers aren't teaching us seriously. Even if we ask questions, they don't answer us clearly enough. The methods that some of them make us do is just bad, for the whole year in 10th grade my history teacher only makes us write "summaries" by the text book, why I'm saying it's bad is because she wants the summary to be VERY LONG, by very long i mean exactly copying the fucking book. I'd rather get a 3 hours of lecture than this. Not all teachers here are like this though don't worry. Also this shows that Indonesian school system prefers quantity of time more than quality of the lessons. Which is bad.

We have to get good grades on all 13 subjects. The only option within school subjects we get are only choosing if we want to major in SOCIAL or SCIENCE (there's no trials btw u get what u signed up for)  which will make an impact in our college majors here in Indonesia. For instance if we're science students we can go both ways either social majors like economics or science majors like physics and if we're social students we only go for social majors in college. BUT in my observation both science and social students have exactly no idea what the fuck they're doing. This is because the lack of exploring themselves. If we were given more time to explore ourselves by finding what we actually like, rather than following ALL OF THE SUBJECTS, we would know what we like to do in life. Because the shit that they teach you in school has no effect in the real world

The previous paragraph lead me to another point. The need for high grades, people with higher grades earn so much respect and are looked as smarter which I don't have a problem but, they will likely fail in the real world because they're already programmed to be perfect, study, get good grades, repeat. They're basically robots. You can't be successful in life if you have that kind of robot attitude, well you actually can, but I'm sure you won't be satisfied because if you're programmed like a robot all you do is work like a robot. You have no creativity whatsoever so all you do is just follow the rules. This is why A grade students work for C grade students. C grade students are rebels, they're creative, they take risks, they are INNOVATORS not ROBOTS.

Now I don't think we can change the Indonesia's school system but what we can do is to change our mindset about succeeding in life like what i told you in the previous paragraph. You should still have high grades to make your parents happy but be a rebel inside.
