\\An Orphan//
You gazed out of the window from your room, sighing contently as multiple Blue jays flew past, small tweets escaping them. Gazing around your room, you noticed how your (F/C) wallpaper seemed worn down and dirty, cringing slightly. Beside the window, a white vanity sat, brushes, necklaces and all the necessities a princess might need. Standing up from your place on your bed, you approached the vanity, staring at your reflection in the mirror.
You had done your (H/C) hair up in a rush, as you had gone down to the town earlier that morning, to greet the orphans. It was something you'd do a lot, visit the town a few minutes away from your castle and play with the orphans. They seemed to love you even more with each visit.

*Your Hair*
Smoothing out the crinkles in your dress, you exited your room and walked down one of the many long halls in the castle. Soft, red silken curtains draped across opened windows, blowing with the breeze. Humming softly, you turned a corner and was met with your personal guard. He took his helmet off, holding it in front of him, his black quills with crimson highlights standing out beneath the lights.
You looked around, narrowing your (E/C) orbs before looking back at the hedgehog.
"Shadow, it's great to see you! How'd it go?" You asked, referring to a job he was sent on by the king, aka; your dad. Shadow looked around as well before answering.
"Well, we got what we needed to and no one got hurt, so.." He dragged on, getting lost in your vibrantly coloured irises. You smiled warmly, your ears flickering lightly atop of your head. The tiara sitting on your head sparkled and glimmered brightly, the (F/C) jewel in the center being the most noticeable. You began walking again, this time with Shadow by your side.
The two of you had gotten closer after he was assigned to be your personal guard, to protect you with his life. He would've done that even if he wasn't your guard because what you didn't know, was that Shadow had little crush~. Entering the dining room, you spotted your father sitting in his chair with his thinking face on. Y'know, eyes squinted at nothing scratching his chin.
Before he looked up, Shadow put his helmet back on, becoming silent while standing beside you. Sadness overwhelmed you, knowing that you could never have a relationship with the hedgehog because of your roles. You had to marry a prince and Shadow had to protect you, not fall in love with you.
"(Y/N). I suggest you want something?" He asked, looking up at you. Shadow didn't move, while you shifted uncomfortably under your father's gaze.
"Only your permission to go back to the village's Orphanage?" You asked, tilting your head. He became quiet then nodded.
