The direct translation of BTS is "Bulletproof Boy Scouts" from Korean.
They are a 7 member South Korean boy band and K-Pop superstar formed by BigHit Entertainment.
BTS debuted on June 12, 2013, but has been a group since 2010. However, the only member that was consistent throughout pre-debut days was RM, also BTS' leader.
