His shallow breathing is the first thing she noticed. His hair, darker than night, his eyes, brighter than day, his freckles, more scattered than the stars-all these were unimportant. As his breathing grew less and less frequent. Her mind screamed "Don't!" but it came out a mere whisper. It was hopeful, despite her knowledge that he was going to sleep no matter how badly she wanted him to stay awake. She didn't really know why she even cared. He would sleep till two and half minutes before the bell would ring, giving him just enough time to pack and go. He would smile at her and ask her to send him the notes he'd slept through and she'd just nod. There's no harm in being nice, right?

She lusted after that. After sleep and carelessness, after copying notes and barely doing homework. She almost even lusted after him.

Almost.

Across the class, she would stare at the girl with studies in her eyes. She would lust after him, lust after everything he had in his palm. Jealous that he could copy stupid letters written by silly people. She wanted his hold on the girl with untold dreams in her heart. His floppy hair that could make people tremble. His long limbs that moved oceans to his liking and held together a false life he made for himself.

She wanted all of that. She wanted to be him.

All he wanted was to disappear.

Oh the irony.
