It wasn't me.
Blood slowly flows down my forearm as I sat on the floor, desolated.
I drop the knife.
"No- no, no." I mutter, shaking her. "Wake up, Crystal!"
I back up, slamming my back against the wall — cracking the thin layer of sheetrock.
"What's the matter, Crystal?" I bawl. "Why don't you wake up?"
In one of the corners of my eyes, I see the blood continuously flowing from my vein. In the other corner of my eye, a pool of blood flows from Crystal's body. I glance over at the knife; the blood on the knife is the exact same blood color as Crystal's.
I held the knife.
I killed Crystal.
"Crystal was the most l-lo-loving person I have ever known." I stutter, shaking my head.
"I wo-wou-wouldn't do th-that."
"Over there!" Someone yells. "In that building!"
I look over the window as I continue to sob.
It's the police.
I have to hide. I run toward the secret room behind my bookshelf. Opening the room by pushing a series of books. As I walk inside — something stops me.
I think to myself; I can't leave Crystal behind.
Take her.
Leave her.
My head hurts. One side of me is telling me to take her. The other is telling me to leave her.
"This room!" A guy yells.
I can't take her. Even if I do, she wouldn't be able to survive. I quickly go up to Crystal to give her my last peck on her forehead. "Wait for me."
I dash towards the corner of my room. I hastily open one window. I hope this will trick them that I jumped out. I hope they are stupid. I jump into the secret room, close the door, and sit there miserably. The love of my life just suddenly disappears from the world. Gone.
Why did I have the knife?
I don't remember holding a knife. It couldn't have been me. A part of me is telling me to walk out and just tell them I'm innocent.
No, no, no.
Am I stupid? They wouldn't believe me. I was the only person in the house today. I am the only suspect.
"Out the window?" A guy yells.
"This bastard." Someone else echoes. "I could have got double the merits if I took this punk."
I'm looking at the bulky guys through the crack of the door.
One of the guys has very large biceps, armed with a pistol and a taser, as well as a pocket knife. He's the guy that is going to put me on the floor, and handcuff me. He turns around. Big brown eyes, double eyelids, sharp jaw-line, high cheekbone, and is gigantic. Looks like one of those idols in the newspaper.
The other guy walks in the room. A smaller body shape, a bit shorter compared to the other guy. Armed with only a pistol and a pocket knife. This person isn't a police officer. He's probably some kind of special agent. This agent is smarter than the other officer too. He's observing the footsteps, amount of blood, and the window. The other officer is standing there, lost.
"Take the girl." The agent starts to walk out of the door. "Oh, and cover up the wounds."
"Okay." The officer replies in annoyance, as he bandages Crystal and picks her up.
As they walk out of the room, I notice a badge hanging from the agent's belt.
Secret Eye Agent.
