Through It All

Did you know that bravery can be quiet?
Or that silence can be so defeaning you have to wonder how they don't hear it?
But to be honest, it doesn't really matter if they hear it, or not.
It doesn't really matter if they care or not.
At least, that's what we tell ourselves in order to keep ourselves from spiraling down into a pit of sadness, anger, and frustration.
Because they can hear us.
They can hear the sad song we sing.
They can see the expression on our faces.
They just choose not to listen.
They choose to turn a blind eye to the pain we're going through.
So the world keeps spinning,
And they keep not listening,
And we keep quiet through it all.
